Discover our world beneath the waves with Atlantis Submarines Kona! Our battery-powered vessels are the world’s most technologically advanced passenger submarines. A special added bonus of this tour experience is also seeing the Kona coastline while riding our shuttle boat. Dive 100 feet below the surface and experience Kona’s marine mysteries, highlighted by a magnificent and pristine 25-acre natural coral reef garden created by an ancient lava flow. The Kona dive site is frequented by fascinating marine life such as barracuda, yellow tang, eel and parrot fish. See firsthand how sunken ships have combined with Mother Nature to create self-sustaining habitats that attract and feed marine life off the shores of Kona.

    An unforgettable 45-minute journey aboard an Atlantis 48-passenger submarine, as featured in National Geographic television specials, where guests explore a 25-acre natural coral reef and its marine inhabitants! Allow Atlantis Submarines to show you the other 96% of Kona you can't see any other way. Treat yourself to Kona's most beautiful and captivating scenery, habitats, and isolated treasures. You'll descend 100 feet into another version of paradise -- one hidden even from the people of Hawaii for centuries. Atlantis Submarines Kona offers a journey aboard a 48-passenger submarine. Guests will discover an 18,000-year-old, 25-acre fringing coral reef, which boasts a vibrant ecosystem. Passengers view coral formations and tropical fish.Headset providing narrations in Japanese, Korean, Mandarin and Spanish are available upon request at no additional cost. Our escorts will assist you to our shuttle vessel from our Atlantis office which will take you out to the submarine.

Wonderful underwater experience!

A friend recommended this and I’m so glad we did it. The staff were terrific, and Jason, our tour guide had a lot of interesting information. There’s a short boat ride out to the submarine, then a climb down into the sub on a ladder. We had a small group so we were told to all sit on one side and they tailored the experience for that side. The sub descends down to a coral reef, where Jason pointed out the names of the many fish we saw. We also saw a sand shark as well as a different kind of shark. We saw all kinds of fish. Then the sub went down deeper to a depth of 105 feet. We saw a couple of ship wrecks, with the interesting stories of how they came to be on the ocean floor. I’m really glad we did this, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Malinda was an AWESOME guide/narrator. All the other staff were very nice also! I loved the experience of going under water in the sub even though I am a scuba diver. My husband was less happy with that part. As per the reviews we read before booking, the sea life & fish was kind of blah. Seeing a reef shark was exciting-and apparently not commonplace. How lucky for us! Several reviewers mentioned some seasickness while onboard the sub so I took medication to avoid that. I think it might be a good idea to warn folks not to do rapid movements of their head during the ride. There is an issue that the company needs to address quickly. Your lack of signage is a total pain. There was not one sign, arrow, person or other indication of where your customers should go to check in. We had to ask at least 5 different people where we should go. It was annoying and in my opinion, very bad business..

Was a fun experience but wouldn’t do it again. Did see some fish and 2 shipwrecks but that’s it. Not worth the amount of money IMO

Great tour. Learned a lot of interesting things and saw some great fish - and even some sharks! Our tour leader was wonderful. Very organized and friendly. I recommend - especially if you're not into snorkeling.

One of a kind experience, there’s nothing else like it. I never thought I’d have the chance to ride in a submarine. Toured two shipwrecks, saw an eagle ray, moray eel and a white tip reef shark.
