Overview

You can be part of this exclusive excursion, where you will have the opportunity to walk alongside these fascinating creatures for an hour, accompanied by a specialized guide who will reveal the secrets of their life and behavior. Our trip begins with check-in at the Ushuaia tourist dock located in the Port. From there, we will begin a bus tour to Martillo Island, along National Route No. 3, where you can marvel at the native vegetation: lenga and coihue forests, extensive peat bogs and majestic mountains. We will lose ourselves in the beauty of the forests until we reach the boarding point, where the real adventure will begin. Once there, we will board the semi-rigid boats that will take us to the magical Martillo Island. After a navigation of approximately 15 minutes, you will enjoy a one-hour walk, exploring the colony of gentoo and Magellanic penguins with our expert guide.

  • Recommendations: - It is recommended to wear a hat, scarf, waterproof jacket, trekking shoes, gloves and sunglasses.
  • IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Tours that coincide with Estancia Harberton's opening hours will require an entrance fee, without exception. Price to be confirmed. The Estancia is closed on Tuesdays.
  • Due to low availability for this tour for the following reasons: - Penguins are very sensitive to human contact, so they can only be visited by a few people a day. - There is only one penguin colony in Ushuaia - This tour is the most exclusive and requested in South America, for this reason we ask for patience for confirmations of visits
  • It may happen that there is no availability for the 2 pm departure but we can get availability for 7 am, however we will confirm with the passenger if he/she is willing to alter the schedule of the itinerary in case there is no availability at the 2 pm time slot.
  • This tour has very little availability, we will confirm availability upon receiving your reservation. We have AM or PM schedules, so when you confirm your reservation we will let you know which shift is available.
  • This tour will be confirmed once the agency sends the passenger's request to the penguin colony. For this reason, do not consider the reservation confirmed until you receive confirmation from the Azul Latina agency through this channel.
  • Please note that the default published time is 2:00 p.m., however, depending on availability at the time of your reservation, the presentation time for this tour will be sent to you. The times will depend on availability. It may happen that at the time of your reservation there is only availability for an AM time slot. For this reason, we ask you to read the itinerary sent by the agency where it will specify the time you will have for this tour.
