Stop at Du Toitskloof Wines for winetasting & the Ou Meul Bakery & Cafe next door for coffee and a treat surrounded by the majestic Du Toitskloof mountain range. Du Toitskloof Wines offer a wide variety of wines from 6 different surrounding farms in the Breede River Valley and are well known for their award winning Chenin Blanc. Their Fairtrade initiative has seen more than 3000 people directly benefitting from all their various projects annually. Wine tasting = R60pp If wine is not your thing, you can enjoy a cup of Bootleggers coffee and a mouthwatering homemade pastry next door at the famous Ou Meul Bakery & Cafe. Browse through their lovely gift shop and delectable array of home baked specialities.

Their entrance fee is extra, but includes a complimentary glass of champagne, a lavish buffet lunch and a 2-3 hour game drive with a professional game ranger (approximately 14 pax per vehicle). I went on the Safari with 3 co-workers in March 2025. We had an outstanding experience. The guide picked us up at our hotel and drove us to the Park reserve. He was extremely knowledgeable about the area, with lots of historical facts. It made the 2 1/2 + hour journey an experience rather than just a drive. We stopped at a winery to have some wine tasting, which was really fun with very good wines. The guide dropped us off at the park reserve and made sure that we knew where to meet our park reserve guide. The buffet meal at the park reserve was a great way to get ready to see some animals. We met out guide, I reserved a private tour which was nice to have a small vehicle to ourselves. The guide was outstanding and very knowledgeable about the various animals in the park. We saw lots of animals up very close (lions, African buffalo, elk, giraffe, hippopotamus, zebra, rhinoceros, elephants, baboons, ostrich, and I am probably forgetting one or two more). The guide explained details about each animal so that we learned about them all. He made great effort to ensure we saw them all and VERY close, sometimes it felt too close!! Then our original guide drove us back to our hotel. Overall a wonderful experience, especially if you don't have time or the additional money to do a two or three day safari. I would highly recommend this trip.

Great day with our guide, Werner. Traffic was bad so Werner swapped the wine tasting to the afternoon. I’m amazed that we were able to see so many animals in a 2 hour period. Werner advised us to sit up front and it worked out perfectly. We saw lions, elephants, hippos, rhinos, elands, zebras, Cape buffalos, and a giraffe.
