Amazing Tour

My wife and I did this tour yesterday 18th February. What an amazing and unforgettable experience it was!!! Garry has a very unique way of providing information to an audience that naturally makes you feel included in every conversation that he has!! Add to this his wit and Aussie humour, this tour will have you captivated from the start and wanting more when it ends. Bravo Garry!!

Do Not Miss This Tour! - Great Wartime stories and a great guide to the City itself

We were visiting from England and discovered this gem of a tour after a recommendation from the delightful lady at the Tourist Information Office here in Darwin. Our guide, Garry, is a really 'top bloke' [a little expression which we Poms use!] who was friendly, amusing and informative. His recall of anecdotes and stories and the names of the people, event details, dates etc was quite dumbfounding. Garry's narration of the bombing of Darwin really brought home the scale and horror of those days in 1942 which are often overlooked by many of us in the UK and US. As you will find out if you do the tour [spoiler alert!] more planes attacked Darwin than Pearl Harbour and more tonnage of bombs were dropped. Furthermore, there were many more raids on the city - some 64 in total over the rest of the war. The tour covers most of the history of the city itself quite apart from the war itself. The transport vehicle is comfortable, air-conditioned and Garry was the perfect host. The visit to the aviation museum is included towards the latter part of the tour and I could easily have spent several days there as there was so much to see, view and read including one of those enormous and truly iconic B52 bombers. If you visit Darwin then, IMHO, this is the *one tour* you should do even though it is nowhere near as well publicised as so many of the other 'big budget' attractions. Enjoy! We certainly did.

Garry was a great guide having a family connection with the events of 1942. Being an aviator I particularly liked going to the Aviation Museum.

pent a very enjoyable and informative morning with Gary as we toured the areas of the Darwin CBD, learning about the impact of the bombing of Darwin in 1942. The tour was made all the more enjoyable by the inclusion of personal details and adventures of those actually involved in the day. This personalisation sets this tour apart from other tours. Gary has a wide knowledge of the aspects leading up to, and subsequent to, this significant event in Australia's history. I strongly recommend that when in Darwin you take the time to enjoy the "Bombing Of Darwin WWII Heritage Tour" with Gary.

Gary is friendly and very informative, he knows the history on the bombing of Darwin. Was a great morning. Learned a lot I didn’t already know. Recommend this tour. Hotel pickup and drop off was good. The trip to the aviation museum was also great. Thanks Gary
