Whilst I’ve know Brad for approx 30 years, his knowledge, experience, friendly touring skills are amazing, next level. He continuously checked in with us, took the tour at our pace and showed us all the amazing parts of Kamakura! Brads knowledge is next level. Do it people! Best experience, best guide! Recently came from Australia, travelling to Vietnam and Japan. Having gone on several tours, Brad’s was by far the best we had. It’s one thing to have a tour guide, but another to have someone who is genuinely excited and passionate about the topics he talks about and that was really evident on our tour around Kamkura. We met early at 7 so we get as much as we could in for the day and saw several temples around Kamkura. The Bamboo temple was my personal favourite. Brad had an answer for just about everything and had an extensive knowledge on all the temples we visited. We were also lucky enough to be treated to nagashi somen, a seasonal meal in Japan. Brad is easy going, fun and laid back. We really felt we were in good hands around Kamkura. As 20 year olds visiting Japan, we were really engaged with everything Brad spoke about. It also helps that his first language is English making communicating questions really simple. Highly recommend those looking to get an in-depth understanding of the early history of Japan and learn from an Australian who’s been in the country for 20+ years.

After two and a half weeks of travelling across Japan, I'm finally taking the time to write the reviews on more than 18 tours we took on our trip. Our day with Brad was by far the best of all. Not only Kamakura is an amazing place, but visiting and getting to know the place with Brad was even better. I mean this in the best possible way, but taking the tour with someone who's first language is English, was complete breath of fresh air, so anyone looking for a tour in English has got to stop looking right now and book directly with Brad. Not only has he taken the time to really learn the history, but his experience as a foreigner married to a Japanese woman, adds a lot to the experience as he shares lots of insights of how Japanese look and think of foreigners. Cherry on the cake, Brad is on top of everything, easy going, funny and a great person to talk to. In short, Kamakura is an amazing place to visit, and Brad is the best person to visit Kamakura with.

Fantastic experience! Brad was a very knowledgeable and friendly tour guide who planned the day exceptionally well. A perfect mix of historical story telling, joking around and getting food & drinks. We had a blast. I highly recommend Brad’s services next time you are in Japan!

Awesome tour. Easy going with lots of historical and cultural info. Great explanations of shrines, Buddha and zen. Enjoyed the insights from Brads experience in Japan over the last 22 years. Lots of good laughs and casual banter. Definitely recommend this tour and will be doing more with Brad on my next trip to Japan. Cheers mate!
