Meet at Discova Day Tour Shop Chiang Mai. Address: 10/3 Wiang Kaew Rd, Tambon Si Phum, Muang, Chiang Mai 50200, Thailand. Near Chang Puak Gate (north gate). Please look for a greenery co-working space "Punspace" - our office will be located in front of it.

    Meet at Discova Chiang Mai office at 8.15AM. The bike tour will depart at 8:30 am sharp as we have a train to catch. After a quick bike fitting and briefing, we pedal to the railway station to catch the train to Lamphun.

  • Lamphun

    Bikes on the Train : The 30-minute train ride will take you south from Chiang Mai to Lamphun.

  • Wat Phra That Hariphunchai

    Bike from the Lamphun railway station through quiet streets and lanes past the ancient city wall to the sacred Temple of Phra That Hariphunchai with its imposing golden chedi

  • Chiang Mai

    Pedaling out of the city, the bike tour will cut across the countryside towards Chiang Mai, wandering through fruit orchards and along canals.

  • Ping River

    The tour takes a break in a small village on the banks of the Ping River for some deliciously simple Thai food.

  • Baan Tawai Village

    lunch bike across the Ping River and on through rice paddies arriving at the wood carving village of Ban Tawai. Parking our bikes, we will take a few moments to walk around and admire the craftsmanship of the wood carvers.

  • Doi Suthep

    Cycling the backroads and country lanes making our way through small villages, out across the plain to forested lanes in the foothills of Doi Suthep. Along the way we will stop at an ancient forest shrine of one of the founding kings of Chiang Mai

    After traversing a few undulating hills, we will reach the esteemed Royal Ratchapuek Park. Once we arrive at the park, we will take a well-deserved break.

Really worthwhile excursion. Bike is the best pace to see the beautiful countryside. Mai is a great guide. We appreciated her perspective on all that we saw.

Experience North Thailand in a different way

This bike ride is not for the faint of heart, but if you are looking for a fun adventure and the ability to explore areas we most likely would not do on our own. Our guide was amazing!

Great cycling tour around Chiang mai vountrydide

James, our guide, was superb. He had great knowledge, good English and a nice sense of humour, offering great insights into Thai life, culture and traditions. The cycling was easy (25 miles) although the bike was quite heavy. Fab lunch and really interesting to see the farming around Chiang Mai. Added bonus was watching farmers harvest and pack their Longan fruit. Tuk Tuk back to base to avoid traffic.

Such a great way to see a piece of Thailand. The bike ride is about 40 kilometers. Take your passport for the train ride! Tue was a great ride leader and host. He provided us with snacks and drinks when we desired. We visited our first temple, had a delicious lunch near a small market. They even made vegetarian food for others in the tour. He told us lots of history. We saw people working in the rice paddies , and Tue took lots of photos. We got a lot of his time and knowledge for the price.

This was my favourite day trip during my visit. For anyone who likes cycling I’d highly recommend this trip around the nearby countryside. The guides were great and the overall operation was very good.
