It has been known since antiquity, the wonderful decorations include colourful painted sunken reliefs featuring the traditional ritual texts (Litany of Ra, Book of Gates etc) and Ramses before the gods. Unusual here are the secular scenes, in the small side rooms of the entrance corridor, showing foreign tributes, such as highly detailed pottery imported from the Aegean, the royal armoury, boats and, in the last of these side chambers, the blind harpists that gave the tomb one of its alternative names: ‘Tomb of the Harpers’

Of coursethere is a material decrease in the number of lateral rooms, and a dramatic increase in the height of the corridors and rooms. He did away with the jogged axis used since the time of Merenptah and instead built the entire tomb on a single axis. Also, for the first time, the entrance was made considerably wider than earlier tombs .

  • Tomb of Ramses IV

The tomb of Ramses IV (KV 2) in the Valley of the Kings is rather different than most other tombs built here. This tomb is by far the most spectacular of the other tombs you will see. The hieroglyphics on the wall depict scenes from the Litany of Ra, Book of the Dead, Book of Caverns, the Book of the Heavens, Book of Amduat, and the Book of the Night. The blue and white colors on the walls inside the burial chamber are very vibrant and you can see the king's sarcophagus made of rose-colored granite. There is also a beautiful scene of goddess Nut on the ceiling, where she is depicted swallowing the sun, and it traveling through her stomach, for Nut to give birth to it. The tomb has so much colour and detail even the ceiling above the sarcophagi with its goddess Nut stretching across the space. The sarcophagus is one of the largest in the valley, even though some of the paintings have deteriorated this is one of the most decorated

Hagag Amine made this tour an amazing experience. He has knowledge about the different archeological sites in Luxor. We felt we never felt rush. We were able to take photos and ask questions. He was receptive, attentive and has a good personality. The driver Ramadan was also a very kind person. He was skillful in driving us to the different sites. Lunch was also very good. We will recommend this tour with Amine. Thank you Amine.

Ahmed Aziz is an amazing guide. He made sure we would get to the best places when there were the fewer people. He was available to answer any questions about Egyptian history and day to day life. If you are on a tight agenda in Luxor I truly recommend this tour!

A Jam packed Day!

Saber was our tour guide. He arrived promptly to pick us up and we were on our way to thee sites! Before each spot, he sat down with us and explained what we were about to see in each tomb, or each area. Although the tour guides are not allowed to enter the tombs, he made our check in spot very easy for us to locate him after we were done with each one. Saber took us to an Alabaster factory where the men were working on handmade pieces from the precious stone. It's a family business and the great-grandfather of the owner were the first ones to discover King Tut's Tomb! For lunch we stopped at restaurant overlooking the Nile and the food was delicious! Right after we took a short boat ride across the Nile and met our driver to see Karnak!
