    Begin your day trip with a convenient pickup from either your centrally located hotel in Udaipur, the railway station or the bus station (see Departure Time for available options). After approximately two hours of driving (depending on traffic conditions), you will arrive at Kumbhalgarh Fort - a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

  • Kumbhalgarh Fort

    Kumbhalgarh ("Kumbhal fort") is a Mewar fortress in the westerly range of the Aravalli Hills, in the Rajsamand district near Udaipur in Rajasthan. It is a World Heritage Site included in the Hill Forts of Rajasthan. Built during the course of the 15th century by Rana Kumbha, Kumbhalgarh is also the birthplace of Maharana Pratap, the great king and warrior of Mewar. Occupied until the late 19th century, the fort is now open to the public and is spectacularly lit for a few minutes each evening. Kumbalgarh is situated 82 km northwest of Udaipur by road. It is the most important fort in Mewar after Chittaurgarh.  In 2013, at the 37th session of the World Heritage Committee held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, Kumbhalgarh Fort, along with five other forts of Rajasthan, was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site under the group Hill Forts of Rajasthan.  With a wall over 38 km long, the fort is among the largest wall complexes in the world, and the second largest fort in Rajasthan after Chittor Fort.

    Ranakpur Jain Temple is renowned for its exquisite marble architecture and intricate carvings. Immerse yourself in the tranquil atmosphere of this majestic temple complex, taking time to appreciate the incredible craftsmanship on display. Considered to be one of the five holiest places for Jains, these temples were built in the 15th century and feature a Chaumukha [four-faced] temple dedicated to Adinathji. The impressive architecture includes 29 halls and 1,444 pillars that are all intricately carved with no two being alike. This is an amazing display of architectural skill that adds to its beauty. Every surface has been carefully crafted with immense detail. Begin your journey back to Udaipur after exploring Ranakpur. The drive will take you through the picturesque Aravalli Range and rural Rajasthan, taking approximately 2.5 to 3 hours. Enjoy the scenic views as you make your way back home!

RANAKPUR VERY SPECIAL

We visited ranakpur what a beautyful temple. Our driver Haider Ali picked us up from our hotel the Vatika Inn in Udaipur and drove us to and from this remarkable place. A very good driver and host we enjoyed his company.On his advice we did not go to Kumbhalgarh because of all the climbing involved. We are stil very grateful for this. We got all time to see Ranakpur and recommend Mr. Haider to everyone. It was a very nice trip and visit.

3 day visit in Udaipur and area, all with Mewar day tour

Haidar picked us (three adults 30,30,60) from Udaipur airport and arranged for us 3.5 beautiful day in the area. We explored the city including the less touristic areas. The next day we drove to Kumbhalgarh and the most interesting Jain temple in Ranakpur. The trip was excellent, although the selection of the restaurant that Jaber made was not ideal. The next day we drove to Chittor, we explored in great details the fort with all its wonderful sites. This time we had a much better luck with the restaurant. On the 4th day Haidar took us to the "Mother in law - daughter in law" temple which was excellent and different from many sites we have seen before. All the interaction with Haidar and his team was very pleasant. Price was reasonable and the service was excellent
