Delphi is famous as the ancient sanctuary that grew rich as the seat of Pythia, the oracle who was consulted about important decisions throughout the ancient classical world. Moreover, the Greeks considered Delphi the navel (or centre) of the world, as represented by the stone monument known as the Omphalos of Delphi. It is now an extensive archaeological site with a small modern town of the same name nearby. It is recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

Great Private Tour to Delphi

Our group of 10 hired Elegant Greek Tours for a private tour of Delphi from Athens. The driver (Dimitris), the vehicle and guide (forget name) were amazing and suited our group perfectly. We were also taken to a fantastic restaurant in Delphi for lunch (at our cost) overlooking the valley out to the ocean - beautiful place and the food was excellent. A great service provided by Elegant Greek Tours and would definitely recommend them.

the service was great. Communication prior to the trip was good, and the driver was early (on a very early morning). Alex (our driver) was pleasant, courteous, fairly knowledgeable of attraction history and accommodating. Would definitely use again.
