I had such a fun time on a food tour in Penang with Su Li! We hit up four different spots, each with a totally different cuisine. But let me tell you, the tomyam beehoon at this cozy Nyonya place was the highlight for me! It was the perfect mix of spicy and tangy—I could’ve easily had seconds (or thirds).
What made it even better was that each cuisine had so much culture packed into it! It wasn’t just about eating amazing food (which we definitely did), but also experiencing the heart and soul behind each dish. Plus, walking around town between stops was a whole experience on its own. We got to appreciate all the beautifully restored UNESCO heritage buildings, along with the stunning temples dotted around the streets. It felt like we were soaking in Penang’s history and culture with every step.
If you love good food, exploring historic spots, and diving into the culture behind each dish, this tour is a must. You’ll leave with a happy stomach, new knowledge, and a deeper appreciation for Penang’s incredible food scene!
Suli(スー・リー)と一緒にペナンのグルメツアーに参加し、とても楽しい時間を過ごしました。4か所を訪れ、それぞれ全く異なる料理を楽しみましたが、特にニョニャ料理のお店で食べたトムヤムクンが一番印象に残りました。スパイシーで酸味が効いていて、何度でも食べたくなる味でした。
また、料理に込められた文化や歴史を感じられたのも魅力でした。さらに、街歩きではユネスコ世界遺産の建物や美しい寺院を楽しむことができました。
