Overview

Travel in our off-road Can Am Defenders to the Coal Hollow Slot Canyon. This tour is a great tour for young families and beginning canyoneers. After arriving at the canyon we will have a 1/2 mile steep hike. We will then Rappel through the slot canyon via 4 rappels.

Meeting points

We meet at our storefront just off of highway 89, we are right next door to East Zion Resort and share a parking lot with Archie's Food to Die For food truck.

Sugar Knoll is the most prominent feature in the area. Settlers thought it looked like a pile of sugar when it is covered in snow. It is a sister mountain to Checkerboard Mesa in Zion Nation Park. We will spend the majority of the time rappelling the bottom half of Ladder Canyon right next to Sugar Knoll.

Awesome tour in the red canyon! Easy rappeling and great tour guide! Coleman was great tour guido, he even save my drone from falling down the cliff!! Highly recommended

Amazing experience. Would recommend to everybody. We were lucky and alone with the guide, he was very kind and had lot of cool stories to tell.

We had a great time! Tony is very friendly and helpful and kept us entertained the whole time! My 8 year old had a blast talking about the utv with him. The climb uphill before going to the cayon was the hardest part of the trip, but both guides worked together were very encouraging. We had so much fun repelling down and seeing the breath taking view of the narrow the ladder canyon. Highly recommended!!!

Amazing time! The kids loved the utv ride and our driver Johnny was a blast. The slot canyons were so amazing as well. Definitely worth the trip from Zion for the afternoon!

What an incredible day! Rob was fantastic—knowledgeable about geology, plant life, and, of course, all things rappelling. He even had my hesitant 9-year-old confidently rappelling down the canyons by the end of the tour. The UTV ride was an absolute blast. The tour was by far the highlight of our trip. We can’t wait to come back again soon!
