Itinerary
Piazza dei Miracoli
Enjoy the marvels inside the Piazza dei Miracoli, 4 monuments: The Baptistery (famous for its echo), the Cathedral, the Leaning Tower, the Cemetery. Take a souvenir photo with the background of the leaning Toore that you are holding.
1 hour 30 minutes
Battistero di San Giovanni
The Pisa Baptistery of St. John (Italian: Battistero di San Giovanni) is a Roman Catholic ecclesiastical building in Pisa, Italy. Construction started in 1152 to replace an older baptistery, and when it was completed in 1363, it became the second building, in chronological order, in the Piazza dei Miracoli.
The shape of the building, the material used, the distribution of the interior spaces given by the columns and the space between the two domes make the Baptistery create an incredible effect of acoustic resonance, better known as Echo. Enjoy the sound spreads throughout the space, like a continuous wave, rising in tonality to the point of suggesting the presence of an angelic choir. Every half hour the Baptistery staff performs a small demonstration for tourists: the effect is not to be missed.
30 minutes
Duomo di Pisa
Pisa Cathedral is a medieval Roman Catholic cathedral dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, in the Piazza dei Miracoli in Pisa, Italy. It is a notable example of Romanesque architecture, in particular the style known as Pisan Romanesque
30 minutes
Leaning Tower of Pisa
Admire the most famous bell tower in the world , the Leaning Tower of Pisa (visit outside), known worldwide for its nearly four-degree lean, the result of an unstable foundation. The tower is situated behind the Cathedral and is the third oldest structure in the "Piazza dei Miracoli" , after the cathedral and the Baptistry.
15 minutes
Galleria dell'Accademia
The visit includes the Accademy Gallery where inside is the David, Michelangelo's famous sculpture. Michelangelo’s David at the “Accademia in addition to the work of David, there are also other sculptures and a large collection of paintings by Florentine artists.
45 minutes
Duomo - Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore
The cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore (visit outside), with its beautiful dome projected by Brunelleschi, is the cathedral of Florence. Construction began in 1296, Gothic style to a design of Arnolfo di Cambio and was structurally completed by 1436, with the dome designed by Filippo Brunelleschi. The exterior of the basilica is faced with polychrome marble panels in various shades of green and pink, bordered by white, and has an elaborate 19th-century Gothic Revival façade by Emilio De Fabris.
20 minutes
Campanile di Giotto
Adjacent to the cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore is the Bell Tower designed by Giotto (visit outside). Giotto's Bell Tower is the majestic bell tower of the Cathedral and one of the masterpieces of Italian Gothic. The Bell Tower has a square base of approximately 15 meters per side with corner reinforcements that rise up to the horizontal cantilevered crown located at a height of 84.7 metres.
15 minutes
Battistero Di San Giovanni
The Baptistery of San Giovanni (visit outside) is located in Piazza Duomo, in front of the Cathedral of S. Maria del Fiore, it is one of the most important monuments in Florence.
The origins of the monument are not certain. It is thought to have been built on the ruins of an ancient Roman temple dedicated to the God Mars around the 4th-5th century AD. The first mention dates back to 897 when it was referred to as a basilica. In 1128 it officially became the city's baptistery, where the baptism rite took place.
The baptistery, named after the patron saint of the city, is characterized by an octagonal plan, covered by a dome with eight segments covered on the outside by a pyramid roof. The exterior of the building is decorated with white Carrara marble and green Prato marble, characteristic of Florentine Romanesque architecture.
15 minutes
Piazza della Signoria
Piazza della Signoria has been at the center of Florence's political life since the 14th century. The Square has seen important historical events and great triumphs take place, such as the return of the Medici in 1530.
The famous sculptures located in Piazza della Signoria have references to the political events of Florence. The David (the original is located in the Accademia Gallery) was created by Michelangelo and positioned in front of Palazzo Vecchio to symbolize the power of the Florentine Republic in contrast with the tyranny of the Medici. Hercules and Cacus (1534) by Bandinelli instead symbolizes the physical power of the family.
20 minutes
Ponte Vecchio
Built near a Roman-era crossing, the Ponte Vecchio was until 1218 the only bridge that crossed the Arno in Florence.
Above Ponte Vecchio you can see a part of the beautiful Vasari Corridor. This corridor, built in 1565 by Giorgio Vasari, passes just above the goldsmith shops that currently stand on either side of the bridge. Commissioned by the Medici, it allowed them to move from Palazzo Vecchio to Palazzo Pitti without having to cross the streets of Florence, in complete safety. At the time of the construction of the Corridor, the butchers' shops were gathered on the Ponte Vecchio, whose activity probably disturbed the passage of the Medici, who in 1593 had them moved, replacing them with the more "decorous" goldsmith shops.
20 minutes
Piazzale Michelangelo
Piazzale Michelangelo is the most evocative point of Florence. From here you can admire the whole city with its splendid monuments.
This square was dedicated to the great Renaissance artist Michelangelo and the copy of David is located in the center of the square next to the four allegories of the Medici Chapels of San Lorenzo.

Memorable Pisa, David, and Giovanni
Published on Jan, 2025
Grateful for a tour that could bring us from to Pisa because we didn’t have time to research how to get there and appreciate the sights in Pisa. I’m not going to lie: It’s quite expensive considering it doesn’t include lunch (which the tour to Pietrelcina had). But for us, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience and we got to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa and more! The trip to Pisa was surprisingly faster than what I thought would be a 5.5 hour trip as per Google Mapa. We were there in 4 hours. Grateful for the competent and safe driving of our driver Roberto. Grateful to Arif who was kind and shared information on our way to Pisa. We had 30minutes to spend in the Piazza Miracoli which I think is enough time to pray in the Church, appreciate the structures and take photos in the area. We asked Arif for recommendations for lunch. He recommended Vecchio Mercato as we were headed to Florence after. He gave us the link to the menu for us to see the choices and prices so we could decide if we wanted to go there or not. We liked what we saw and Arif checked if we wanted to have a table reserved for us. We said yes and he did. It’s a Trattoria with delicious food and we enjoyed our choices of the Florence steak which was perfectly seasoned and succulent (we ordered 2kg but thinking back, 1.5kg of steak would have been enough for our family of 5 considering we also ordered pasta (the cream-based spinach ravioli is yummy!) and desserts. It helped that there seemed to already by a tie-up between Viator and the Trattoria because the Trattoria owner/attendant (?) knew of the 2:30pm meeting time with our next tour leader. We were met at 2:30pm by Rashi, who was kind in coordinating with me the night before in confirming that her boss Renato approved of our request to be picked up at our hotel (which was not among the pick-up choices in the app). Rashi introduced us to Giovanni our tour leader in Florence. Our family appreciated Giovanni’s knowledge delivered with such warmth and expertise. He seemed to known people we passed and they knew him too! We loved our time admiring with awe Michaelangelo’s David. We loved the different structures in Florence! So interesting with the stories Giovanni shared like of the author of Pinocchio, of Mona Lisa, of the image of a metal door that served as Michelangelo’s inspiration for Adam in the creation image in the Sistine Chapel. We enjoyed our time with Rashi, Arif and Giovanni in Florence. Happy that Giovanni also shared his personal recipe of making Gnocchi. Loved how the lines were not long with the tickets we had. Grateful to Renato, Rashi, Arif, and Giovanni. My only concern was not being able to avail of my approved Viator points for another booking I was making as the website/platform didn’t allow me to select the currency (INR) that would make it possible for me to have the points applied at check out. I tried it. Arif tried it. Despite closing/restarting the app and my phone, it didn’t work. Very disappointed that I couldn’t avail of these points which would have lessened the price of another booking I made. Seriously consider fixing your app/website to address this concern so that customers can avail of their approved discount. Thank you!
Amazing day full of history and great guides to share their knowledge.

Great drive to Pisa, The Cathedral is a must and the tower is great. Onto Florence with lunch at Trattoria Vecchio Mercato.
Had a local guide at Accademia Gallery, well worth it. The David was breath taking but all the statues and paintings were great. It was a short walk to the Cathedral, well worth the time.
I would highly recommend Welcome Italy. Our guides and driver were fantastic, thank you for a truly amazing day.
We loved the Pisa,Florence from Rome Tour with Dina and Massimiliano!

We took the full day Florence,Pisa, from Rome tour with our tour guide Dina and our driver Massimiliano. From the start everything was wonderful! Dina was so professional and kind.As soon as all 3 couples were picked up she started to educate us in everything we were passing and seeing on our excursion…We went to a rest stop on the way to Pisa where I unknowingly left my backpack.I realized it and let Dina know when we arrived in Pisa,My wife and I were so worried we would not see it again! It had important travel documents and cash in it.Dina immediately called the rest stop and found out somebody turned in the backpack to the rest stop staff and told us to not worry,She then contacted one of her fellow colleagues named Yara who was going to do the same tour the next day and Yara would pick up the backpack and return back to our hotel the next evening!…Kudos to Dina and Yara as they communicated together and with my wife and I very thouroughly! We got the backpack as promised the next evening with all contents intact!!!
We are so impressed and grateful to Dina and Yara for taking such loving care of my wife and I on this wonderful excursion!!
Massimiliano our driver was excellent also!!!
Dina was so knowledgeable on our tour.Take this tour!!!! Pisa and Florence is a gift to humanity, and so is Dina,Yara, and Massimiliano!!!

Seeing the Leaning Tower in Pisa, David in Florence and the country of Italy. Beautiful Italy.
The Italian drive helped my hubby with walking issues. The English guide told me history of the area and looked after us old folks. Altered the tour due to my hubby's walking issues
