Your private and driver will pick you up from your Xi'an downtown hotel lobby at 08:30am or on your request time. It takes around 2 hours driving to Family Zhang's cave village. Once arrival, you will visit Zhang village museum cave to learn this village history and local folk culture, then you will walk into hundreds of earth cave homes including underground caves, cliff caves, count yard caves, pit caves.......in family Zhang's cave castle village. This village is quiet and realxing, you will explore the underground cave maze from one to the other as a marmot with your guide. During the village stay, you will have a delicious lunch in the local farmer home. You will see the village development and understand the whold China farmer life changing in the past 20 years.

You will walk along the glass corrior into the underground Tomb museum pits with around 50000 Toy-sized terracotta figures including terracotta soldiers, various animals and household items, all were made for creating his daily life in miniature in the tomb accompanying him for the 4th Han dynasty emperor's after life. Your private guide and driver will bring you bake your Xi'an downtown hotel at the end of the tour.

To say our family is thankful for the guides of Catherine Lu tours during our stay in China would be an understatement. This tour company was so easy to use, contact and ever-so flexible as we changed our sites at the last minute and they still nailed a solid schedule. On time, prompt and truly the tour company model to follow. The guide we had in Xi'an, Maya, was so knowledgable and well-versed in the history of the region. Her personalized approach during the visit to the Terracotta Warriors and Hangyang Tomb provided much perspective on the grand history of China and mysteries of the many dynasties. Most notable was her command of the area food choices and ability to take our likes and dislikes, translate them to the restaurant staff and come out with flawless meal choices each and every time that were worth every bite. Her translation abilities and assistance during the day of touring made our travel in China so much simpler and put us at ease to enjoy our time as a family. Will we use Catherine Lu tours again?
