Overview

This 3-hour food excursion of Nafplio takes you to carefully selected food shops, where you taste some of the finest cheeses, wines, coffee and ice cream available in the city. At the same time we visit the most famous monuments of the city, such as the Catholic Church, the square of St. Spyridon, the square of Saint George and the Old City which introduce us to the long and wonderful history of the city.

Itinerary

Land Gate (Pass By)

We pick you up from our meeting point and we begin our excursion with a tour in the picturesque alleys of Nafplio with its neoclassical mansions and Venetian balconies.
Nafplio

Our first tasting stop is a traditional grocery store where we taste local varieties of cheese and sausage and we learn their little manufacturing secrets by the grocer.

Syntagma Square

Then we head to the Syntagma Square, the heart of the city. We learn more about this historic square and the surrounding buildings.

Continuing our tour we pass through the neighborhood of ''Yialos" and we taste local varieties of wines in a cellar-wine shop, while the owner narrate us the art of local wine making.

Nafplio

Our culinary excursion ends in an authentic traditional ice cream shop. Having our ice cream at hand we walk to the beach of Nafplio in order to admire the Venetian fortress of Mpourtzi and to learn more about its historic existence over the centuries.

Great tour ! Lots of fun, together with learning more on the city, Greek culture and discovering Greek food, local products ! Tour not to be missed ! (Appropriate for any age, from kids / teenagers to grand parents)

What a gorgeous day exploring Nafplio with friends and family, and our guide (and new family member) Mary. She gave us great history, helped us understand the geography, politics, and other unique influences that make this town so magical. We met some loved people, tried gorgeous cheeses, honeys, and wines, and heard great stories from people that take such pride in their town. A must if you’re in Nafplio! Thank you, Mary!

Sophia was the nicest. We went wine tasting, cheese tasting, ice cream and also ate at a local tavern It was lovely. Sophia is a local and knows lot about nafplio

Great Food Tour

Great tour: great food, great wine & great guide! There was lots of walking (good exercise to burn calories between food stops) & she was able to accommodate our diverse walking styles (some fast, some slow & 1 cane) while teaching us about the island. If you select the ice cream stop (there are choices), , I highly recommend the lemon sorbet—best I have ever had—& I’ve had a lot!
