When on tour in South Africa with a group, our tour company used African Safari Adventures for our full-day open vehicle safari in Kruger National Park. We were able to enter Kruger and begin our discoveries right as the park opened in the morning. Our guide, Heyn, did a remarkable job pointing out and expertly explaining the wildlife and vegetation. Due to our tour group circumstances, there were eight of us in our vehicle. However, Heyn positioned (and repositioned) the vehicle and allowed time so that all of the avid photographers on board could take pictures. He explained which animals we would be likely to see often in order to be able to spend more time at less frequent sightings: a family of African wild dogs, a pride of lions (lion, lionesses, four cubs) relaxing after having made a kill / dragged the victim into the taller grass, and more. We made two stops at the Skukuza Rest Camp during our one-day outing: one during the morning and the second at about lunch time. Heyn mentioned the small museum/library and the ranger dog memorial at the rest camp for those of us who had spare time during those stops, and we found them very interesting. We were grateful for his in-depth knowledge of the areas where we traveled and for his expertise as concerns the fauna and flora.
