Bobsleigh, Sigulda (Pass By)

The Sigulda Bobsleigh and Luge Track, one of 18 worldwide, is accessible to visitors and tourists. Hosting annual international competitions, it offers a thrilling experience with its 1420-meter length, 16 curves, and 200-meter braking distance, reaching speeds up to 125 km/h. This versatile track accommodates bobsleigh, luge, and skeleton competitions and training sessions, attracting both professional athletes and visitors alike.

Castle Of The Livonian Order In Sigulda

The Livonian Order Castle of Sigulda was built in 1207 as a Castella-type castle; however, it was later rebuilt into a convent-type building. A contemporary seeker of medieval aura can climb the northern and main gate towers of the castle. An open-air stage in the castle's center hosts concerts and festivals, including the International Sigulda Opera Music Festival.

Sigulda New Castle

The New Castle of Sigulda, built by the Knyaz Kropotkin family in 1878, has retained its neo-Gothic style on the exterior, while its interior became a gem of national romanticism in 1937 when it housed the Latvian Union of Writers and Journalists. Nowadays, the manor's central buildings host workshops and salons for craftsmen and artists, where new skills can be learned and souvenirs can be purchased.

Gutmanis Cave

The largest cave in the Baltic countries and the oldest tourist attraction in Latvia, adorned with inscriptions dating back to the 17th century on its walls. This cave marks the origin of the legend of the Rose of Turaida.

Turaida Castle

Construction of the castle began in 1214 under Archbishop Albert of Riga, on the site of Liv leader Kaupo's wooden fortress. Originally named Fredeland, it later became Turaida. Defensive upgrades, including towers and household buildings, were made over time. After a 1776 fire, the castle fell into ruin. Since 1976, ongoing archaeological excavations and restoration have partially revived it, with exhibitions on its history and the Gauja Livs. Visitors can enjoy scenic views from the main tower overlooking the Gauja Valley and Turaida Museum Reserve.
