Overview

Cruise the Great Sandy Straits, a special place nestled between the largest sand island in the World, K'gari (meaning paradise in the local Butchulla language), and the Fraser Coast on the Australian. This marine playground offers an array of wildlife, including endangered and threatened species. You'll learn about sea and land animals, birds, the marine and coastal habitats, and conservation approaches. Each tour is different, but you could see and array of sea birds, dolphins, manta rays, Green Sea Turtles, tiger sharks, along with a variety off coastal habitats. We will cruise the Great Sandy Straits, a water wonderland of wildlife! It is a special place, nestled between the largest sand island in the world-K'gari (meaning paradise in the local Butchulla language) - and the Fraser Coast on the Australia mainland. You'll discover why this area of the world is considered a marine playground for an array of wildlife, including endangered and threatened species. Learn about sea and land animals, birds, the marine and coastal habitats, conservation approached and the Pacific Whale Foundation Australia research programs. What you could see: Indo Pacific Bottlenose Dolphin; Australia Humpback Dolphin; Osprey, White-bellied See Eagle, Australian Gannets, Brahminy Kite, Ruddy Turnstone, Eastern Curlew; Manta Ray, Dugong, Tiger Shark, Corals, Sea Birds; and habitat including seagrass meadows, mangroves, pristine sandy beaches, endemic forest, etc. This 2-hr. cruise offers a safe, relaxed atmosphere and a great opportunity for photos.
