Our vehicles are XS models which add that touch of luxury from the standard Land Rover Defender with heated part leather seats, air conditioning and heated windscreens. With over 35 years of experience exploring Scotland, Lake District and Northumberland our advice can be invaluable to make your trip into an adventure to remember. From our unique location you can access probably the 3 best locations Great Britain has to offer all within just over 1 hour and key parts of Northumberland being a lot less. Did you know Northumberland has more castles than any other county in England. Please be aware these vehicles are still a working vehicle and we're mainly made for the agricultural and off road community so the drive is harder than you'd expect from a modern day car.

Itinerary

With Overland Adventures Luxury Expedition Land Rover campers, we allow the modern day adventurer to explore places they may not be able to in other rental vehicles. Within the price you are fully insured and are backed up by comprehensive RAC recovery. Not only are you traveling in one of the most recognisable iconic British vehicles, we supply you with the best equipment all included in the price. From our Howling Moon pop up tents with memory foam mattress accompanied with a choice of awnings depending on your preferred set up. Our selection of equipment is extensive, from showers, fire pits, blankets, sleeping bags, lighting, washing, cooking and a lot more, all you need to do is turn up with a sense of adventure and your tooth brush. Within just over an hour you can be in Scotland or the Lake District with the Northumberland coast only 40 minutes away. We have over 40 years experience in the outdoors and can help as much is needed with routes advice, even booking campsites and anything else you may want help with. Overland Adventures, we will help make your trip an unforgettable adventure.

Amazing trip from start to finish all thanks to Darren and Tracey!

This was an amazing experience start to finish! Darren and Tracey were so accommodating, friendly and super helpful, equipment was amazing, and it was such a fun family holiday. We will definitely be back! Couldn't of asked for a better trip with the help of Darren as he was very knowledgable with what to do and where to go to experience the stunning sights. Thank you both for the trip of a life time.

As first time campers, our three day trip in “Armstrong” courtesy of Overland Adventures was an exciting challenge and one which we can safely say, exceeded our expectations. From the information sent to us in advance, through to the initial handover and the handing back of the vehicle, Tracy and Darren were thoughtful and professional. Hints and tips regarding the vehicle and the tents were very welcome – it’s always good to know what to expect and that with practise the opening and closing of the tents does become easier. It took a couple of hours to familiarise ourselves with the vehicle but soon enough the manual gearbox/handbrake, locking system became second nature as we meandered around the country lanes of Northumbria with smiles on our faces. Everything we needed for our adventure was provided – including storage to keep food (picked up from the local supermarket) cool and logs for the Solo stove that was a wonderful addition to sit out late into the night. All cooking equipment was provided and we had some great al fresco meals in complete privacy. The tents are essentially super comfortable king size beds with all bedding provided and enough options for ventilation for a great nights sleep whilst keeping bugs at bay. A truly unforgettable experience creating wonderful memories.
