Hawa Mahal

The Hawa Mahal - Palace of Wind is a palace located in Jaipur, India. It is made of red and pink sandstone and extends to the Zenana, or women's apartments, on the fringes of Jaipur's City Palace. Its five-story front is designed to seem like a honeycomb, with 953 tiny holes called Jharokhas that are embellished with intricate latticework.

Built at a mountain pass in the Aravalli Hills, 10 kilometers east of Jaipur. The temple is well-known for its natural springs, which collect water in tanks (kunds). Bathing in Galtaji's waters is considered lucky, especially on Makar Sankranti, and many people visit every year. Because of its vast monkey population, the temple is also known as 'The Monkey Temple.'

Extremely knowledgable and friendly guide—couldn't ask for more!

I had an amazing time with Ashraf in Jaipur! Ashraf is very friendly and accommodating. He collected me from the train station, and already had a great itinerary planned for me. Ashraf's car is very comfortable, and he drives very well. On day one, he took me to the various forts around Jaipur, and had in-depth knowledge of the history of the area. On day two, he took me to places in Jaipur city, and either provided a tour himself, organised a tour guide or informed me when I didn't need one (which definitely saved me a pretty penny!). On day three, he took me around the Jaipur markets so I could soak in the atmosphere. This last day was not planned in advance, but instead I suggested it while in India. In general, Ashraf was extremely flexible and adaptable in my requests, which were often very last-minute! Ashraf pointed me to some of the best food locations I've every had! He helped me choose a good range of local foods, and made great recommendations after he dropped me off. He clearly knew Jaipur very well, and it was great to hear about his experiences. He also took a keen interest in me, and generally was really friendly and personable... and funny! I hope to visit Jaipur and the surrounding region again, and I will absolutely be booking with Ashraf again. p.s. I really hate taking photos so I don't have many to include below, but the sights are truly phenomenal.

Amazingly knowledgeable. Ashraf gave helpful guidance on how to navigate ticket sales and avoiding paying for things you don't need. This was very helpful as a solo traveller. There was great flexibility on time and stop offs allowing you to spend time where you want to and move through areas of low interest quicker. Great service!

Ashraf is THE person to take you around Jaipur! Not only is his knowledge extensive, his demeanor is kind and incredibly patient. We didn’t have a set itinerary for our Jaipur trip, and because of Ashraf we were able to see the city as we had planned it out immaculately. He knows every corner of the city like the back of his hand. He is incredibly kind and accommodating and flexible! I feel like I left with a deeper knowledge of the city and experience that most people don’t get. Thanks Ashraf!
