We had a really fun time on this cookery class with Abdou. This is the first time we have tried a trip like this on holiday but will definitely do it again. We had booked in advance of our holiday. Abdou contacted us by WhatsApp the day before our booking to confirm arrangements. The time was changed from Sunday evening to Monday mid morning but this was fine - it suited us better. It also meant we were joined by 3 other travellers which made the experience less intense for just the two of us. We met Abdou in the market. First we chose a chicken. This was prepared for us very swiftly and expertly by the butcher whilst we bought veg with Abdou. Abdou also got us some spices to take home. Back at his house we prepared and cooked 3 tagines - chicken with preserved lemons, a lamb tagine and a vegetable tagine. Whilst they cooked we had mint tea and chatted. The tagines were really tasty. Overall it was a very good experience and Abdou is an excellent host. Would highly recommend. We now feel confident to use our tagine at home.
