Overview

How to catch fish when it’s hiding under a one-meter layer of ice? You will learn that and much more, as we take you ice fishing on a frozen lake amidst beautiful winter scenery. This experience starts at our meeting point in Levi to get all the equipment for ice fishing. After, we travel around 20 minutes to reach the ice-covered lake. Then it is all about fishing! We walk on top of the lake on a thick layer of ice and find the best spots for the day. The main activity is of course ice fishing itself, but the frozen lake offers also an ideal setting for landscape and wildlife photos. We will also set up a campfire and enjoy some hot drinks and snacks – and if there is big enough catch, we can fry the fish too!

Itinerary

We will depart from our meeting point and head to a frozen lake near by Levi. In our location we will drill a hole through the ice and try to catch a fish from the lake. Frozen lake offers peaceful and quiet atmosphere for enjoying the Arctic nature. After fishing we also make a fire a and enjoy some snacks.

We had a wonderful time. Taru was very patient with my kids. Overall it was a great experience. We didn’t catch any fish but we all had fun learning how to ice fish. It was a beautiful, peaceful day.

We went fishing with Meri and everyting was super nice! We have not been lucky enough and we didn't catch any fish, but still the experience was awesome. I recommend this experience and this operator!

Me and my family did the ice fishing trip with our guide Antti and it was really unique. We went to a secluded beautiful frozen lake in the countryside, and although we didn’t catch anything and got a little wet from the slushy snow, we had a great time and Antti is a good guide who’s patient and helpful. We received great pictures afterwards and had sausage and blueberry juice by a fire.
