Private tour with no limits, hunting the magical Northern Lights. We start from your accommodation around Levi, and we’ll go wherever the conditions require. We have one target only: to see the Northern Lights in the strongest possible form. We will travel with our 4x4 arctic truck. This way we can reach the best viewing spots even in difficult, snowy conditions. We can often find a magnificent place with no one else around, so you can have the whole experience to yourself. Your local Finnish guide will know the best places to go. There are no kilometer limits, so we will do whatever it takes to experience the Northern Lights. Just tell us the night you wish to go, and we will take care of the rest. Our Aurora guarantee: if we don’t see Aurora with our naked eye, we will issue a 50% refund. This season our success rate is over 90%, so we feel confident in giving this promise.

Itinerary

Levi Ski Resort (Pass By)

Starting from Levi (pick up from your accommodation), we can visit the top of Levi Ski Resort if you wish. But our main goal is to go much deeper into the wilderness - away from any light pollution and crowds. The main attraction will be the Northern Lights, viewed from a secret location.
Pallas-Yllastunturi National Park

We will be in Pallas-Ylläs National Park or close to it, hunting the Northern Lights. This will mean approximately 15-45 minutes drive from Levi, depending on the best location for that specific night to witness Northern Lights. We will be there maximum of 7 hours, or until we see the Northern Lights. As it is private tour, you can decide when we are done! We can also find a small wilderness hut to set up a campfire while waiting for the Northern Lights to appear. We have some snacks and drinks for that. It is optional, and is included in the price.

Pulju Wilderness Area (Pass By)

If weather conditions require us to travel further, we can skip Pallas-Ylläs National Park and go directly to Pulju Wilderness Area. During the tour, we can go anywhere within 2-3 hours driving distance to see the Northern Lights. We can decide the location together based on our guides recommendations and your schedule.
Levi (Pass By)

In the end, we will drop you off at your accommodation in Levi area. We are flexible on the pick up and drop off locations, so even if your accommodation is further away from Levi please contact us. It is most likely ok. Anything within 30 minutes driving distance from Levi is automatically ok.

Best northern lights tour in Levi

If you are serious about seeing the northern lights, this private tour is definitely the way to go! Our guide Lauri did everything possible to find the lights for us, including driving to Sweden to get the best chance. We unfortunately went when the activity level was low, the clouds were blanketing Levi and the moon was at half show which didn’t make for the best conditions. Lauri drove out of the cloud covered area, in driving snow, to get us into clear skies and after a while waiting, the lights appeared. He used many different data sets to develop a personal plan and took us wherever he needed to go to find the lights for us. This was different from the other tours that just seem to go to predetermined spots. We took several other tours while in Levi and none of them even remotely compared to this private tour. If we had not taken this tour, there is no way we would have seen the lights as brilliantly as we did. After listening to some of the things we were interested in doing on our trip, he also set up an arctic polar plunge/spa trip for us which allowed us to check off a bucket list item. Take my word for it, this tour is worth every penny.

Even though aurora that day was quite weak we managed to catch it. Overall experience was a great adventure with some off-road driving, fire camp in the middle of nowhere under the stars. Beautiful scenery!

I proposed during our private northern lights tour and Lauri could not have been a better guide and host for such an important moment. We had great visibility of the Northern Lights and Lauri helped me organize the surprise and get some incredible photos. The forecast for our week in Lapland was looking terrible for catching aurora, we had a cloudy forecast, so I honestly think we wouldn’t see the lights had it not been for Lauri that took us 100km north of Levi to escape the clouds. He truly made the research and knew exactly which way to drive and what direction to turn. And wow did the lights put on a show that we will remember forever. The moment they began dancing across the sky, it felt like witnessing pure magic. Lauri’s expertise was incredible - he knew exactly where to take us to capture the most breathtaking views of the aurora borealis. On the way he also took us to a local bar/petrol stop that was so lovely and authentic it also made it like more than just an aurora hunting tour. He also made photos of us with his camera that is such a priceless memory we get to keep forever. Thank you Lauri!
