Overview

  • The end of March to the end of June is a crucial time in all the floating villages in Siem Reap, as the water levels start to recede and present a unique opportunity for tourists to experience a new perspective. Although the picturesque landscape of the floating community may lose some of its charm during this time, visitors have a chance to immerse themselves in the daily life of the villagers living in the dried season. While some boats may become stuck, and smaller canoes are unable to traverse the jungle forest, these challenges add to the thrill of the experience. The dry season in floating village of Kompong Phluk may not be the ideal time to visit for those seeking postcard-perfect photos, but it offers a chance to witness a facet of the village’s daily life that is not typically seen. As they say, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. We recommend visitors to embrace this rare chance to witness a different facet of this incredible destination and truly get a different taste of life in the village.
  • Dress code: All visitors are not allowed to wear as shorts as you want for this experience. Please make sure that your knees and shoulders are covered.
  • For small-group tour is limited to 15 participants to ensure a more personal experience from our guide.
  • The valid pass of Angkor pass can be used to visit the Beng Mealea temple. So if you have still have it, please bring it with you for its visit. Otherwise, you have to buy a new Angkor pass of 1-day (US$10 per person)
  • What should to bring: Insect repellent, sunscreen, sun hat.
  • For lunch, there is a vegetarian option like fried rice vegetable with eggs and fried spring rolls, but no vegan option.

Fantastic Tour

We did this tour on 14th May. Our driver was Mr Leap, who was very safe on the road and also gave us a fresh cool towel after every destination, which was much appreciated. Our tour guide was Mr Sotin, who shared his knowledge of all the areas we visited. The time at each destination was not too long and not too short, it was perfect. The highlights for us were the floating village and Beng Mealea Temple. The food was very good too with Mr Sotin allowing us to taste different snacks along the way, like deep fried banana (amazing) and some very flavoursome cupcakes. If you are visiting Siem Reap, I definitely recommend this tour.

The trip was fantastic and the guide and bus driver were very kind and informative. I highly recommend this tour if you want to explore the rural parts of Cambodia and learn about the history of the region.

We took a one day trip with Asean Angkor guide service for Kulen mountain. The trip was really nice and organized well and especially Mr.Sam out tour guide took care of us exceptionally and was explaining the cambodian history in detail. I highly recommend Mr.Sam and Asean Angkor guide service .

We had a great day with Moni on this tour, it was a long day but well worth it. Moni’s knowledge and English was fantastic. The national park was picturesque with ample time at both the mountain and waterfall. Lunch at the waterfall was lovely. We stopped at various temples and the fishing village. The road was rough in some parts however the bus was comfortable and wet towels and cold water were always available. Would recommend th8s tour when you are in Siem Reap
