Amanohashidate

Meeting time and point: 8:40am at Osaka 9:50am at Kyoto Our journey begins with a comfortable ride to Amanohashidate, one of Japan's top three scenic views. This stunning 3.6 km sandbar is adorned with 8,000 pine trees and surrounded by the serene Japan Sea and Amanohashidate Bay. The name “Amanohashidate” means Heaven's Bridge, and you'll see why as you take in the breathtaking landscape. Don't miss the chance to ride the cable car up Mt. Monju for a spectacular view from the observation deck (optional). From here, Amanohashidate looks like a dragon soaring into the sky, earning it the nickname “View of the Flying Dragon.” Perfect for a jaw-dropping photo op! Next stop: Chionji Temple, renowned for academic success. Check out the impressive temple gate and try the unique fan-shaped omikuji (fortune-telling paper). For a bit of fun, watch the revolving bridge that connects Amanohashidate and Bussharado rotate to let large ships pass.

Ine Village, recognized as one of Japan's 18 most beautiful villages by the Japanese, is home to the country's unique waterfront "funaya" houses. Here, you can experience the untouched natural scenery that is unlike typical tourist destinations. The funaya, with over 230 houses, stretch along the 5-kilometer southern coast of Ine Bay. To this day, people continue to coexist with the sea that lies right before them. The village is a serene fishing community, far from the hustle and bustle, where you can immerse yourself in the natural beauty unique to Ine Town—the crystal-clear sea, deep green mountains, rapidly changing sky, and the iconic colors of the funaya houses, all of which create an unspoiled and authentic atmosphere. Our host Lily was a gracious, friendly and knowledgeable guide. Our tour bus driver was smooth and accomodations comfortable. This tour turned a difficult to plan day trip into a breeze, especially since we were staying in namba and other public transport options started quite far away. Multi lingual translations, Chinese and English, were the cherry on top.
