I booked this tour kind of last minute on a recommendation from our Airbnb host who said if we’re going to Scotland, we should dedicate a day to visiting the Highlands. I was a little iffy about spending 12 hours on a bus but to be honest, the day just flew by. The bus was comfortable and warm, we all had little devices with earphones that allowed us to hear the guide clearly. Our bus had two guides - Amber, the English speaking guide, and Valentina, the Italian guide. Amber was so sweet and knowledgeable, she was really easy to listen to, funny, never boring, had a lot of fun little tidbits of information throughout our ride. We stopped every 1.5-2 hours so it was easy for me and my tiny bladder, I’m always nervous about that on long bus tours. What I really enjoyed is they played some music throughout the tour in between informational bits, and it ranged from folk songs to modern songs inspired by Scotland and the highlands. I’m very much a music person and it added to my experience so much! I loved this entire trip, we saw the highland cows, saw the gorgeous Glencoe and learned of its long and tragic history - and listened to a song about it, we saw a couple little towns and got to look for Nessie in the Loch Ness by taking a boat ride, which was also awesome (we did not find Nessie). Overall a fantastic experience I’d recommend to anyone. Special thanks to Amber for being a delight!
