This Buddha image is especially revered among the Chinese community, who refer to it as 'Sam Po Hud Kong' or 'Sam Po Kong.' The bridge was royally named "Somdet Phra Pin Klao Bridge" in honor of King Pinklao, the second king in the reign of King Mongkut, as the area on the Phra Nakhon side of the bridge was once part of the Boromphiman Palace.
Rama VIII Bridge (Pass By)
Your dinner cruise will pass by Rama VII Bridge. The bridge's design and the direction of the royal monument were planned to align with the Earth's orbit around the sun. On the 21st and 22nd of December each year, at dawn, the sun rises directly in line with the center of the road on the bridge's eastern side and directly in front of the royal monument. This alignment acts like a marker, indicating the elliptical, retrograde path of the sun when viewed in a two-dimensional plane, following ancient astronomical concepts.
