Overview

This tour travels by Metro or Cable Metro and will let us make stops at certain locations that show the evolution of Medellin as a global city. Experience a completely new and improved city, boasting the only metro system of the country, a symbol of the Paisa desire to excel and bring quality of life to locals. The system has been bringing service for a couple of decades already. Discover how this magnificent transportation system integrates main cultural icons of the city with the highest technology in order to incorporate amazing structures like the cable car or the recently added Tranvía (LRT) in downtown.

Medellin private city tour

Very interesting site tour through the down town area Francisco Boltro, Uribe building, metro and cable care rides, botanical garden and many more. Our tour guide Ray was outstanding

I had a great time with Alberto. He was more like a friend than a tour guide! I enjoyed the sites and experiences around the Museo de Antioquia: i.e., the Botero sculptures and the under-the-metro-line market. The cable car and metro experiences were also fun, as was the Acevedo area. Alberto made the excursion very memorable.

David was a great tour guide. He knew so much about the country - from the environments in the Andes and Amazon to fun facts about the neighborhoods in Medellín. He tailored the tour to our needs and the weather. We had a great day with him.

This was a great introduction to how the city operates. My guide was Santiago who was very patient and helpful when we used the metro system, including the cable cars. As I am still learning Spanish, Santiago’s English was very effective and communicating was no problem. Visiting another country, requires a bit of effort to learn the host language. Additionally, I am somewhat limited with recent health issues and the uphill walking was a bit challenging, Santiago was very encouraging and supportive. The natural surroundings were so refreshing, especially as it contrasted with the hectic city life. I was very impressed with Medellin’s clean and efficient rail system. People were friendly and even offered me cautionary advice when they saw my wallet and phone in my back pockets. It was an afternoon well-spent. I now have confidence to use the metro system on my own. And I am most likely to return to the Gardens for another tranquil day taking additional photos.

David did a fantastic job with our tour! He did a great job of hitting a variety of spots, lingering where we wanted to and moving more quickly through the parts we were less interested in. He also ensured my (older) parents were comfortable and the pace was good for them. He had tons of local information—both historical and tips for the rest of our trip. I’d gladly recommend him and the tour and would do other tours with him next time I return to Medellin.
