Overview

The underwater museum was created and built to aid our Mesoamerican Barrier reef system in keeping the continued growth of healthy coral.. You will see an abundance of colorful coral growth, Schools of colorful fish, Eels, sharks, turtles, Scorpion Fish and more... The 2nd tank is at a beautiful reef nearby and this site also offers all the colorful coral, huge schools of fish, an abundance of sea life and a swim thru too! These dives are for any certified level of diver...

Meeting points

Our dive shop is located on Avenida Juarez 13 across from Javi's Cantina. You are also going to find cafe Mogagua in the corner. We are located just 3 blocks north of the Ferry Terminal and one block east (on Calle Abasolo).

Itinerary

Meet at our shop at 7:30 or 13:00 and get ready to immerse yourself in the captivating world on a two tank dive of the Underwater Museum of Art (MUSA) (9m/30ft), a masterpiece created by renowned artist Jason deCaires Taylor and The Manchones Reef (9m/30ft). Explore this underwater wonderland, where art meets nature in a breathtaking display of creativity and conservation. Located amidst the stunning backdrop of the Manchones Reefs, the Underwater Museum is a favourite dive site among our customers. Delight in the vibrant hues of colourful fish and coral as they dance around Taylor's sculptures, bringing life to this submerged gallery. Encounter schools of grunts, rainbow hued parrot fish, majestic stingrays, graceful turtles, elusive eels, hunting barracudas and the gentle nurse sharks as you navigate through this underwater sanctuary.

A great choice of Dive Shops

Aqua was first on our list of Dive Shops, walked in and immediately knew we'd made the right choice. After some intros and discussions, we booked the MUSA and Manchones Reef for day1PM and the Sleeping Sharks Cave and Pailas day 2AM. ....these were all very good dives, neat caves and caverns, fish, turtles, rays. After finishing day2, we booked the following morning for the Punta Sur SWIFT Drift and Media Luna Reef....the drift dive is super cool and for sure a dive to be on your list and embraced, since the ocean current is doing all the work. With 4 divers per group, our Dive Masters over the 6 dives were Daniel (2x) and Nina, very attentive and professional, stressing safety and fun as prerequisites for the dives. Nicely laid out dive plans before we left the shop, including potential sightings and challenges. Captain Wilbert and his crew did a great job. The equipment we had was top-notch and well maintained. Being from land-locked Alberta and Canadians who vacation "south" in the winter annually 2 or 3x, it had been many months since our last dives (Feb2024). With perhaps anxiety around "remembering what to do", the staff really helped prepare us , provided great coaching and ultimately made the diving into a great experience. Even our wives, who don't dive, were so impressed with the team when we stopped in the day before we flew home...we felt compelled to stop in and say thanks. If you're thinking to Dive around Isla Mujeres, this dive shop is a great choice.

Amazing experience with excellent instructions from Aqua Adventures. Went with my SO and she never dived before. She was instructed well and really enjoyed it! Would recommend diving with this company!

The people here at Aqua Adventures were incredible! They were all super helpful and assuring if anyone had issues or questions. Our instructors were Gustavo, Nina, and Danny and they were great! 100/10 would dive with them again!
