Nearby, the old city’s 16th-century Venetian walls include the Famagusta, Kyrenia and Paphos gates. Inside the walls, a marble mausoleum sits next to 19th-century Faneromeni Church.

A highlight of my holiday

The tour of Nicosia and Kyrenia exceeded my expectations by far. I had a memorable day getting deep insights into the life and history of Northern Cyprus, whilst enjoying the architecture, city life and landscapes that we passed on the tour. I can highly recommend the guide/driver Şhebnem.
