I apologize first because I do not recall our tour guide's name, but if it is any consolation prize, I am still thinking about this tour enough to write this review a few weeks later.
Prior to our visit to Serbia, I wasn't sure what to visit at first. A few Reddit threads I saw mentioned Novi Sad so we booked this tour because it sounded interesting.
And it sure was, I felt by the end I knew a foundational about of Serbian history. As someone who loves history, this was important to me. I've worked as a tour guide in the past at museums and historic sites, and was genuinely amazed by our tour guide. The in-depth information he shared with us from start to finish was perfect.
While Novi Sad and the monastery were the two main highlights that interested me, my favorite part ended up being the wine tasting. This is saying a lot because I am not a wine drinker. It was a great moment that we shared with everyone in our tour while learning a little bit about regional agriculture as we drank local wine and ate local cheese.
It was also fantastic walking around Novi Sad on our own and with a mini tour. I do not believe it would've been the same if I visited without a guide. Our guide made sure we had an understanding of the impact of the Austro-Hungarian Empire on Serbia, which you could see built into the architecture of this city.
