Overview

You’ll join one of our local Osaka hosts for an exhilarating half-day experience of their city. From local food to must-see sites like Osaka Castle, you’ll discover the city’s unique charm and local culture. Customized to suit your taste, you’ll visit a creative neighborhood like the neon lit Dōtonbori, grab some lunch at a trendy market and discover iconic temples, historic landmarks and bustling shops. Within 24 hours after booking you'll receive a short questionnaire about your personality and interests. Based on your responses, youll be assigned a like-minded host. Your host will communicate with you directly to suggest an itinerary to help you discover what makes the city unique. You will also agree on a meeting time and place. Your itinerary is flexible, so during the experience, you can always change your mind about what you want to do.

  • Osaka Castle (Pass By)

    One of the main landmarks of Osaka, it was constructed in the 16th century and was the battleground of major wars throughout Japanese history. It is a popular cherry blossom-viewing spot during spring (entrance ticket 600¥ NOT included) IMPORTANT: As this is a private and personalized experience, the places you visit may differ from those listed and these will be chosen by your host based on your interests and preferences

  • Shitennoji (Pass By)

    Japan’s oldest official temple, founded in 593. The perfect place to zen while your host introduces you to Japan Buddhism.   • Hozenji Yokocho (Pass By)

    There are over 60 tiny traditional Japanese restaurants and bars in this stone-paved narrow little alleyway. Enjoy the serene quietness that contrasts with the bustling atmosphere of nearby Dotonbori while indulging on all the delicacies Osaka can offer. 
Look for the statue of Fudomyoo, the deity worshipped at Hozenji Buddhist temple, completely covered in moss and surrounded by visitors pouring water over it in return for its blessings.   • Shinsekai (Pass By)

    This unique neighborhood was modeled after Paris and New York City, and its art deco architecture is truly a sight to behold. Shinsekai fell into disrepair following World War II. Today, it is undergoing a revival, with bars and restaurants popping up alongside its old-fashioned attractions. Once you’ve admired the architecture of the neighborhood, head up the Tsutenkaku Tower -known as the Eiffel Tower of Osaka- for some breathtaking views of the city.   • Dotombori (Pass By)

    Lined with garish neon-covered buildings, the Dotombori Canal is the most iconic sight in all of Osaka. 
The famous canal network can give you a unique view of Dōtonbori, Osaka's premier entertainment district, before you visit hidden treasures in Dotombori arcade; a street line with shops, restaurants, and incredibly flashy signs for guaranteed Instagrammable photos. Perfect Osaka tour

Great way to discover Osaka, Our guide Khalid was fantastic, for our first day in Japan he guided us through the metro tickets and IC card system, gave great advice on getting around and where and what to eat as well as provided a great tour of Osaka, felt much like a friend more than a guide

Friendly and relaxed tour. Didn’t feel rushed. Our tour guide was able to answer a lot of questions our Japanese guides had trouble understanding.

Takaya was wonderful. He e-mailed before tour to give me some background on him and ask if we had anything specific to see or do. He made our day in Osaka quite memorable with walking around the shopping area, local shrine and delicious lunch. We learn interesting and knowledgeable history, culture, language, customs and traditional of his homeland. Highly recommend him!!!

Fabulous day in Osaka

Maria was an outstanding guide. She made our day in Osaka very special. We would never have been able to do what we did on our own. Maria guided us in using the subway to get around and we included lots of interesting places. We had a delicious lunch in a quiet little place and we’re introduced to okonomiyaki. A fabulous end to our holiday in Japan.
