Overview

Take a 2 hour, 30 minute cruise down the great Mississippi River aboard the Paddlewheeler Creole Queen. Enjoy a narrated tour with a licensed historian describing 300-years of New Orleans history; from the founding of the city by the LeMoyne Brothers to the tragedy of Hurricane Katrina. During your cruise the vessel will dock at Chalmette Battlefield for a 1-hour excursion. Enjoy a guided tour and talk by a National Park Ranger about the battle of New Orleans, while taking in the sweet breeze and delicate waves along the river. Delight in a cash bar and/or a satisfying Creole lunch option available on the boat while viewing the famous French Quarter and Port of New Orleans from the river .

    Disembark at the site of the 1815 Battle of New Orleans at the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve, where you can tour the Chalmette Battlefield including the Malus-Beauregard House and the Chalmette Monument before re-boarding for the return cruise.

Great Time on the Mississippi.

We had a great time with no complaints. The narrator Charles gave us an amazing history of New Orleans to include what went on during Hurricane Katrina and it was a pleasure to hear from a man who is so proud of his home city. The crew got us up and down the river safely and the drinks were plentiful and affordable.

The ride on the Mississippi River was made unique with the paddlewheel boat. Very nice tour with lots of great info about the sity.

It was very enjoyable and informative. We just did the cruise - so cannot rate the food. The person who provided the New Orleans history was very informative and provided some very interesting information, including information about the US not just New Orleans. It was very unfortunate that we were not able to go to the battlefield, which was disappointing, but we understand it was not the fault of the crew. Just wish someone would have told us prior to leaving and would have offered us to go another day while we were in the area.

Very informative tour about the Mississippi River and The French Quarter. Our guide was excellent and provided great history in an enjoyable way. We docked at the Battlefield where the war of 1812 was fought. A different guide discussed the war in a very moving presentation. The ship was as usual- cash bar and food to buy. Nice music and friendly staff. Definitely recommend!

Narration was great and easy to hear. Nice to break up the boat ride with the battlefield experience. Food was buffet style. Second helpings welcome.
