Overview

On our Secret Food Tour: Philadelphia, you'll be led through the busy streets of Philly for a mouth-watering three-hour urban gastronomy tour in the central and historic areas of the 'City of Brotherly Love'. You'll get to try an innovative twist on the soft pretzel, the pretzel Philly cheesesteak made with ingredients sourced from vendors in the Reading Terminal Market. We'll also try an amazing Malaysian dish in Chinatown. You will travel to the heart of the Emerald Isle too; plus there will be two sweet treats, one will be a life changing Pennsylvania Dutch plus the Secret Dish, which will only be revealed on the tour.

Good Philly food and good company

We had a great time with Dominic. He is very easy-going, knowledgeable about the restaurant and bar scene in Philly, and fun to talk to. We started at the Reading Terminal, where we had what turned out to be my favorite treat of the day — a Philly cheese steak sandwich on a soft pretzel roll. Absolutely fabulous. Our stops for Malaysian food, hot from the fryer donuts, pierogis at an Irish bar, and cookies back at the Terminal filled us up. Throughout the tour, Dominic entertained us with Philly facts and brought us to a few iconic places. It was just the two of us on the tour on a cold January morning, and I’m sure we got as good a tour as any larger group would have gotten. If Dominic was disappointed, he didn’t show it! A very fun experience.

Our guide Arielle was knowledgeable about the city. We learned a lot about iconic Philadelphia foods as well as the city in general, and we saw some interesting things on the tour we would have never sought out for ourselves.

We had a wonderful experience. Arielle was a great tour guide, friendly, informative and efficient. Taking care of all the details, including pre-ordering and managing to find seats in the busy food market, all we had to do was follow and enjoy. The food choices were interesting, we would not have found most of them on our own. We whole-heartedly recommended this tour!
