Travel from Johannesburg to the Pilanesberg Game Reserve and enjoy a closed-vehicle game drive, seeking out diverse African wildlife in the 572 km² park, which is not only home to most Southern African species but also home to the Big 5, namely lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard. The reserve is also one of the world’s outstanding geological phenomena: a crater of a long-extinct volcano and the result of eruptions some 1 200 million years ago. This was honestly one of the most amazing experiences of my life! Although we didn't get to see all of the big five, we saw plenty of animals right away including wilderbeasts, rhinos, hippos, giraffes, elephants, zebra, etc... Our tour guide was amazing, super informative and very nice. We were picked up on time from our AirBnB in Sandton and the drive was about 2 hours but totally worth it. I definitely recommend this activity.

Words cannot describe how great of a tour this was. My wife and I went in August during our honeymoon off-season tour in Zouth Afrika so our tour guide Mark was able to give us a personal tour. He was funny and quite knowledgeable. We saw all the big game. We could not ask for a better trip. Well worth it for this lifetime of memories.
