Overview

Treat yourself to a small group, adventure-filled day of history, culture and Italian wine! Exploring one of the most famous archaeological sites in the world, guided by an archaeologist. Then you'll be welcomed on a terrace immersed in vineyards on Vesuvius where you'll be able to taste local food while tasting Vesuvian wine. After that, you’ll go on a guided horseback exploration of the Vesuvius National Park, (500 meters above the sea level) amidst the very volcano that brought the ancient Roman civilization to a halt. This tour provides: •2-hour walking tour Pompei Ruins with an expert guide •1 Hour Horse Ride in the National Park of Vesuvius •Private transportation Included during all the tour •Lunch included •Small-group format ensures a personalized experience •All the equipment for the horse ride •The ticket to enter the ruins is not included: (16 euro per adult, free for under 18 years old, 3,5 euro for Europeans 18 to 24 y.o.)

Itinerary

Your day will begin with a visit in the Pompeii ruins, skipping the line into the site. Guided by an archaeologist, you’ll discover excavations and the secrets behind them that only an expert knows. During the tour, you’ll see the history of the town and how the Romans used to live. You will enter in their domus (ancient houses) and public buildings, creating an understanding of how they lived daily life. Finish the tour and you’ll continue your adventure in the Vesuvius National Park, where you’ll experience being close to nature, far from the city noise, surrounded by the sound of birds. Once you arrive at the ranch after a morning of walking, you’ll have time to relax and have a proper lunch made all by local products with homemade local wine! Then we will saddle up and jump on the horse to receive a little training. Once your comfortable, we will venture off into the park, taking in the sights, sounds and fresh scents of the land. The ride is suitable both for beginners and experts - we will be there to help you! You will receive a training and you'll be guided throughout this exciting excursion.

Tour guide was amazing, funny, easy to listen to, and educational, and all around entertaining. Horse back riding was an enjoyable experience, and so was the wine tour and tasting. Met a lovely couple who we enjoyed chatting with and added so much fun to our experience. Food and wine were delicious. Even the driver to the wine tasting and stable was a fun guy to be around. Learned from him cigarette=dart, and the phrase "When you come over, knock with your feet.". Hahahha. (Google it)

Incredible and exhilarating day

Where did I start? What a great tour this was! From the wonderful guide at Pompeii who expertly navigated the crowds through the excavated city, to the fabulous horseback rides through Italian vineyards, ending at a spectacular lunch and wine tasting at a Winery set on Mt Vesuvius, the day was amazing!
