Our registered guide will travel with you , providing information and different places and at some Museums, you will meet a site guide that will assist you . Some sites are self-tour , you don't need a guide. If you want to visit the Museum, entrance at your own cost. This is a self-guide tour.

It is a beacon of hope that you can see from any direction in Pretoria. The Voortrekker Monument provides an opportunity for the public to learn more about the Afrikaner’s story, from the Great Trek to the Anglo-Boer War and more. The monument tells a story of heroism, perseverance, and a vision for the future so that we can be where we are today. Apart from history, the Voortrekker Monument is also a place of relaxation. It is the ideal place to have a picnic, walk, drink coffee, and take part in adventure activities – in Afrikaans. The Voortrekker Monument welcomes families, friends, and groups to enjoy an excursion on the monument’s grounds. The Voortrekker Monument is your place, your people, your heritage, your future, your home.

Union Buildings

Like an ancient temple adorning over the city it governs, the Union Buildings are a modern day acropolis, built at the highest point of South Africa's capital city, Pretoria, it forms the official seat of South Africa's government and houses The Presidency. Designed by Sir Herbert Baker in 1908, building began in 1909 and was completed in 1913. It took approximately 1265 artisans, workmen and labourers almost three years to construct, using 14 million bricks for the interior office walls, half a million cubic feet of freestone. The buildings represent a decadent layer of South Africa's history. Originally built to house the entire Public Service for the Union of South Africa, it was then the largest building in the country. In 1994 the buildings were the scene of much jubilation as they played host to the inauguration of former President Nelson Mandela, South Africa's first democratically elected President, and heralded the beginning of a new era in South Africa's history.

Awesome tour with Gabriel!

My sister and I did the Pretoria City Day Tour with Mount Zion Tours and Travel. We booked this tour via email. Pretty was very prompt in replying to our questions and Mount Zion Tours were very accommodating, picking us up from our hotel in Pretoria and dropping us at our next hotel in Johannesburg after the tour. We were so glad to have Gabriel as our guide. He was very friendly, organised, and knowledgeable. He taught us a lot about the history of South Africa. Particularly, we enjoyed the Voortrekker Monument and learning about the Voortrekkers, the Kruger House, and the Union Buildings where Gabriel helped us take some great photos. We felt very safe with Gabriel. We would recommend using Mount Zion Tours! Thank you Gabriel for an awesome day! Jess and Jacqui (Australia).

My tour guide K.B. was very punctual in his picking up and took me to all scheduled places in our tour also other nearby bonuses, explaining in detail everything to me. In all of our stops he was very patient and gave me lots of time to explore things also by myself. We visited all interesting spots in Pretoria and its surroundings, and all of them were fantastic. Super recommend that trip to those interested in learning more about South Africa, the first settlers in Pretoria region, its natural and built beauties and singularities.
