Yesterday's guided tour in São Paulo with Doris as our guide was exceptional. We spent several hours with Doris, who showed us the most important architectural highlights of Sao Paulo. Doris is knowledgable, smart and funny; a great person to guide us through town. She didn't hold back and put in plenty of political commentary which gave the tour an added dimension. I would recommend a tour with Doris very highly. Sao Paulo, to me, is not a city that shows you its' best easily, as places like Barcelona or Paris do. SP is a huge, sprawling, sometimes unattractive mass of humanity and to have someone like Doris help make sense of it for you is well worth the effort. We ended up loving Sao Paulo and it was mostly due to the quality of our guides.
