Overview

Book a private and fun experience with our Florentine family to prepare handmade pasta. We will use products from our garden and, if not available, at 0 km. We will prepare traditional recipes together! If weather permits we will eat in our beautiful garden! (Sometimes it is possible that some requests overlap, we will contact you and ask for your agreement to allow the activity to be carried out in a small group). Thanks to the partnership with the Correnti ODV Association, for each Cooking Class, €1 will be donated to support the community of orphaned children of Malelea in Lesotho. Garden Cooking Class puts its heart into it.

Itinerary

Join our family in the heart of the Oltrarno for a cooking class and tasting experience based on typical products! You will enter a Florentine house where you will start making homemade pasta following simple recipes using products from our garden, if available, or seasonal and km0. We will enjoy the fruit of our labor by tasting wine and tasting local products and our high quality extra virgin olive oil that you can purchase if you want to bring the flavors of our home with you. If you want you will learn how to make Spritz! Our exclusive garden will be the setting for your day! Example of menu (sauces and type of pasta could change based on fresh seasonal products): Starter: Fettunta or Bruschetta or cheeses First courses: Tagliatelle or ravioli or lasagna Dessert: cantuccini/mousse/ice cream/fresh seasonal fruit Drinks included The dining experience can be customized to accommodate vegetarian options. Please let us know when you book. All tools are included! In case of rain, lunch will be served indoors Min.2 people. Possibility to visit the local market (15€/person)

Amazing experience

We had an amazing time with this wonderful family. They are great hosts and are passionate about good food and wine. We learned how to cook pasta from scratch and can’t believe how fun the whole process is. My three teenagers were engrossed in the experience the whole time. Would highly recommend adding this to your trip!

The family teaching pasta making was gracious, knowledgeable and extremely friendly. We had a wonderful experience making several types of pasta and as a bonus seasonal squash risotto and tiramisu. In addition to learning several valuable cooking principles we learned a lot about Italian family lifestyle and culture.

If you visit Florence with children, or even without, you MUST join this family in their home for a wonderful evening learning, cooking, and tasting all about Italy! This evening cooking an authentic meal was so much fun - they have thought of every detail to make your experience perfect, and have prepared in advance all the necessities for a delicious and relaxing evening. The pumpkin filled with herbs from the garden was roasting when we arrived, and the broth cooking on the stove - this made our effort to prepare the risotto simple, yet we got to see how to do so. We made pasta from scratch, using the tools to flatten and cut it, and enjoyed every bite once cooked! Our children were able to play with their incredible children, and were grateful to share in games with their toys. I cannot say enough wonderful things about how to give your family this exceptional and ‘once in a lifetime’ experience!
