  • Ancient City of Ephesus

    After greeting, we will have 20 mins. Drive to Ephesus area. Ephesus (Rev. 2:1-7), major port city on the Aegean, was the commercial, political, and religious center of all of Asia Minor. After a lunatic completely burned the Temple of Diana (Artemis) on the night, that Alexander the Great was born in 356 B.C. The Ephesians worked for 120 years to complete a magnificent reconstructed temple, one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world. The city became part of the Roman Empire in the second century B.C. As a Roman capital of Asia Minor, Ephesus boasted a population approaching 250,000 people. The Apostle Paul’s first visit to Ephesus was brief—during his second missionary tour (Acts 18:19-21). His second visit lasted about three years—during his third missionary tour (Acts 19:1 to 20:31). Luke’s account of the worship of Diana appears in Acts 19:34-35. The Great Theatre (stadium) mentioned in Acts 19:29-31 could seat 25,000 people. Walk the marble-paved street with grooves made by chariot wheels.     The House of Virgin Mary is located on the Aladag Mountains 5 miles away from Ephesus. At the third Ecumenical Council on 431 AD in Ephesus, it was claimed that Mary came to Ephesus with St. John in 37 A.D. and lived there until her death in 48 A.D. After the discovery of the house, the Archbishop of Izmir declared there as a place of pilgrimage in 1892. On July 26, 1967, Pope Paul VI visited this place and prayed there.     After Lunch break near Ephesus in a local restaurant we drive to St. John’s Basilica, it is believed that the evangelist St. John had spent his last years in the region around Ephesus and buried in the southern slope of Ayosolug Hill.

    We will stop at Artemision Temple where used to be one of the seven wonders of the ancient world as our last stop before drive back to Kusadasi port / hotel

Ephesus - You are good but you lost your first love!

AMAZING tour! Mr. Melih provided references to the Bible and from there, the stories from the Bible came to life! To be standing where the chip emphasis was and to hear the Holy Spirit speak through me to state that I should never lose my first love was moving to say the least. I would love to go back someday and tour all seven churches.

5 day biblical tour

This tour was an amazing experience for my family and I. Yavuz was our tour guide and he was amazing, he explained everything nicely and very well organized. He speaks Spanish and English and informed us about the 7 churches and the history. Also the driver was nice as well and very patient. I recommend this tour you will not regret it!

Visiting Ancient Ephesus

We booked the Tour and saw ancient ephesus, two churches and the Artemis temple. Luckily they picked us up from our hotel and brought us back there. The tour guide Inan was very nice and said a lot of interesting things about the places. We didn't need to rush through the places, because we could decide the pace and often hat some "free time" where we could walk around the places and take pictures. All in all it was a very nice experience!

Absolutely incredible! Our tour guide, Mr. Cenk, was so knowledgeable. He was also patient with our many questions and very polite. He took us to great local businesses to sample goods and was funny and interesting. This is a must go!

We enjoyed a tour having only two of us as participants. Hide was professionally educated and narrated for over five hours, giving is a rich education on the ancient city of Ephesus. Possessed great scripture knowledge.
