Midhope Castle

We will visit the iconic Midhope Castle, famously known as Lallybroch from Outlander. Your guide will take you through all the key filming locations while also sharing the fascinating history of the castle itself. It's a must-see for any Outlander fan! Please note, Midhope Castle is closed between December and April, and during these months, we will visit an alternative location such as Linlithgow Palace. Additionally, as Midhope is located on a private estate, access may be restricted at short notice due to estate activities.

Your visit to Blackness Castle, a towering and historic fortress, will be guided by an expert who will bring the castle’s rich past to life. As you wander through its imposing walls and hidden corners, you’ll uncover captivating stories from both its real history and its role in Outlander. We will stop at Deanston Distillery for a lunch break (not included), offering a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal in this historic location. While here, you’ll also have the opportunity to indulge in a whisky tasting, sampling some of Scotland’s finest drams and soaking in the atmosphere of this charming distillery.

What a joy, Leslie, our tour guide was. She not only knew about Outlander but also a lot of Scottish history (plus she had a great sense of humor). We went to Castle Leoch, Fort William and last, but not least, Lallybroch! I will never forget this day.
