If you just do one tour in Chennai then this must be THE ONE

We met with Lakshmi from Storytrails. Absolutely wonderful! Charismatic, charming and different. We highly recommend this tour. We were so hot that we nearly cancelled the afternoon tour but so glad we didn't. If you just do one tour in Chennai then this must be THE ONE.

Colourful stories of Chennai culture and religion

Lakshmi was a warm and friendly guide who was a great storyteller. She took us to the temple, where we learned so much about Hinduism, and also to St Thomas cathedral which was so interesting. Finally we tried local food and had a drink of tea. A super introduction to Chennai!

Fantastic tour

We had an amazing time, my son loves hearing well told stories and it was a pleasure to have Lakshmi walk us through the absolutely beautiful temple of mylapore and the churches around the area, her stories are enchanting and kept a 10 year olds attention for over 3 hours, not an easy feat, it takes a social kind of story teller to do such an amazing job. The stories were also unique, with hints of humour, fabulous.

Highlight of Chennai

We were given the peacock trail tour with Lakshmi. We all had a fantastic time and learned a lot about the temples and history of Mylapore. Lakshmi’s delivery of the information, friendliness and the actual underlying information (I.e. the telling of the stories behind what we saw rather than talking about architecture) made this one of the better walking tours we have been on. Storytrails are only running private tours at the moment but it was worth paying for and we left having learned a lot which really gave us a good grounding for what we have been seeing throughout Tamil Nadu. I highly recommend booking in with storytrails - getting to know Lakshmi and the tour was one of the highlights of our Chennai trip. Storytrails are also operating in Madurai!

Lakshmi was charming and entertaining and we had a lovely one-on-one time together with lots of smiles and relaxed amusing stories. Lovely way to end my trip in S India!
