Oshino Hakkai is a historic village in the Fuji Five Lake region, situated between Lake Kawaguchiko and Lake Yamanakako. It was once the site of a sixth lake that dried up centuries ago. The village features eight ponds fed by snowmelt from Mount Fuji, which percolates through lava layers for over 80 years, producing exceptionally clear spring water. Visitors can drink this pure spring water and, with favorable weather conditions, enjoy a close view of Mount Fuji from the village.

Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine is one of around 1,300 Asama shrines in Japan, which are dedicated to Konohanasakuya-hime, the goddess of Mount Fuji and all volcanoes. This shrine is part of the Mt. Fuji UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site, recognized in 2013. Asama shrines are typically located with a view of Mount Fuji. If the view is obstructed, miniature replicas of the mountain, made from rocks from Mt. Fuji, are often placed within the shrine grounds.

We covered these places in our day tour- 1) Mount Fuji 2) Chureito Pagoda 3) Lake Kawaguchiko with boat ride 4) Kitaguchi Shrine 5) Oshino Hakkai village 6) Lawson stores for Mt. Fuji back elevation views. Yasir, the owner took us to real good places with detailed explanations of the various sites visited. He also took great pics of us. He recommended good things for us to do. We were entertained by his company and knowledge of the various places. Totally recommend his private tour. It was not at all rushed. We had freedom to spend as much time as we want unlike a group bus tour which is usually rushed & hectic. If you want to spend quality time and sightsee at your own pace, choose a private tour by Ohayo Trip. :)

Fantastic Mt Fuji Tour!

Yasir picked us up at our hotel right on time, and we headed toward Mt. Fuji, with many stops along the way. His van was clean and comfortable, and we settled in for a great day of sightseeing. Weather was cool and crisp, comfortable for our tour. We stopped at Chureito Pagoda, and hiked up the hill for a fantastic view of the Pagoda, with Mt. Fuji off in the distance. This is well worth the hike up, and visitors have the option of taking the (400) stairs, or walking up a paved trail that wound its way up the hill. We also stopped at Lake Kawaguchiko. The lake is beautiful, and we took a short speedboat around it, stopping here and there for unobstructed photos of Mt. Fuji. This was well worth it. There was also a cablecar to get a better view of the lake and surrounding region, but it was shut down temporarily for maintenance while we were there. We had lunch at a Pakistani restaurant. The food was excellent, and reasonably priced. Next was Kitaguchi Hongo Fuji Sengen Shrine. Very old, beautiful trees, and time for a nice walk around. We then went to the village of Oshino Hakai. This was scenic, historic, and an overall great experience. Many places to buy grilled fish and other foods, souvenirs, etc. This would have been amazingly beautiful (but cold) in mid-winter. We then headed back to Tokyo. Yasir was an excellent guide, and made the day informative, fulfilling, and quite easy. Highly recommended!

The tour was phenomenal, Vicky was a great guide who went out of his way to give us the most relaxing, intimate, and amazing experience whether it was finding the best photo spots, taking our photos, and providing us with a wealth of knowledge throughout our trip to Mount Fuji. We were picked up at our hotel, and made 5 stops along the way all with different qualities and all with great views of Mount Fuji. It was a clear sky and wonderful day. Would absolutely recommend this tour for anyone visiting Mount Fuji, and Japan.
