Bacalhoa Palace and Estate
Considered the most beautiful Quinta of the first half of the 15th century still existing in Portugal, Quinta da Bacalhôa is an old property of the Portuguese Royal House.
In the fourteenth century, the property belonged as a recreation farm to John, Infante de Portugal, son of King D. João I. Herdou-his daughter Dona Brites, married to the second Duke of Viseu and mother of King D. Manuel I.
In 1528, the fifth would be sold to D. Brás de Albuquerque, the first-born son of D. Afonso de Albuquerque. It is worth noting the collection of Portuguese tiles from the 16th century. XV and XVI that adorns it, evoking Moorish designs and representing a house on the lake overlooking the Quinta. From inside to outside, visitors will be able to enjoy unique pieces of collecting, including the first tile dated in Portugal, as well as gardens and vineyards.

Parque Natural da Arrabida
The Arrábida Natural Park with a fantastic view over the Atlantic Ocean and the Setubal Bay (belongs to the Club of the most beautiful Bays in the World) is a biogenetic reserve located in the peninsula of Setúbal, with 501 meters of altitude
The fauna and flora is quite diverse, although it has undergone great changes since the 19th century. Until the beginning of the 20th century it was still possible to observe wolves and deer. Species of flora protected by the natural park, such as rare orchids and wild tulips such as the unique Candidula arrabidensis in the world.
The natural park of Arrábida is an almost magical and special place, in it inhabit species of unique flora and fauna.
About 1,400 plant species are concentrated in this territory, accounting for 40% of Portuguese flora and less than 1% of the country's plant area.

Forte de Sao Filipe
The Castle of São Filipe, also known as São Filipe Fort and São Filipe Fort, is a fortification located in the City of Setúbal.
Setúbal has been occupied since prehistory, successively by Phoenicians, Carthaginians and Romans.
Privileged Atlantic port, the first defensive structure of this important borough was a wall begun at the time of the king D. Afonso IV (1325-57) and completed in the following reign, under D. Pedro I (1356-67), with the function of containing the assaults of pirates and corsairs, usually from North Africa.
Taken together in the period of the Philippine dynasty, its relevance is demonstrated by the fact that the very king D. Philip I (1580-1598) personally witnessed, in 1582, the launching of the foundation stone of the new fortification, with the architect and engineer Italian military officer Filippo Terzi (1520-1597).
In the XVIII century the Chapel in its interior acquired its coat of tiles, signed by Policarpo de Oliveira Bernardes (1736). During the Pombaline consulate (1750-1777) it would not have been immune to the 1755 earthquake and was used as the School of Gunners.

The Fish Market of Setubal opened in 1930, is nowadays in the Top 10 of the fish markets of the World.
It is a pleasant surprise to enter a market where it does not smell like fish, where there are no Mosquitos or Flies, where it does not smell bad, since all food is quite fresh.

Castelo de Palmela
The castle is 240 meters above sea level.
With Islamic occupation between centuries VIII-XII, the Castle of Palmela was conquered by D. Afonso Henriques, in 1147 and definitively recovered by D. Sancho I.
Within the walls of the Castle are: the convent of the Order of Santiago; the Church of Santiago; the ruins of the Church of St. Mary.
This Castle has a privileged view over Setubal and Lisbon

It was a transfer from Lagos to Lisbon with 8 person. Everyone was satisfied and during our trip back to Lisbon Airport, we had a few ours before our flight to look around and Mr. Lima gave us a few tips and stored our luggage during the day. Highly recommended.

Amazing tour outside of Lisbon

I wanted to explore interesting areas around Lisbon and not just the usual touristic spots. I called Eagle travel tours and they had exactly what I was looking for. Piedade Fernandes was the tour guide and driver. Piedade was fantastic with her knowledge and dedication. The trip was amazing. We explored the beauty of Natural Park of Arrábida stoping here and there at strategic spots to make sure we got just the right picture and selfie (the Park is a beautiful luxurious area with evergreens and amazing beaches - a perfect postcard that looks more like the Virgin Islands or some place in the Bahamas). We visited historic castles in the region of Setubal (a fishing picturesque village with great fish and seafood restaurants) and we experience locally grown fruits, cheese and sweets at the local market. We went to Quinta da Bacalhoa - a local world renown wine maker with an amazing palace and very rich in local and historic values. It was just a non-stoping "'WOW"' factor after another.
The car was big and comfortable and with the AC on all the time (I'm not a big fan of heat in the Summer) and our trip was just perfect. Make sure you try it. Its so interesting and rewarding. It was so memorable that I'm sure I will remember it for a long... long time. Thanks again,....nice job!!!!
