Itinerary

Achilleion Museum

Our driver pick you up form your cruise ship (or from your hotel) in order to start the wonderful tour in Corfu. We have the first visit at Achilleion Palace is located in the Village of Gastouri, at south west of the town of Corfu. This stately palace was built by the Empress Elisabeth of Austria and purchased by Kaiser William II of Germany upon her untimely death. During the First and Second World War the palace was abandoned and after years of rebuilding and restoration, the palace was finally restored to its former beauty

Mon Repos Palace

We will continue to Mon Repos Palace, situated on top of Analipsis hill in the area of Kanoni. The remains of the ancient town of Corfu, which have been found opposite to the palace, make archaeologists believe that Mon Repos was built right on the site where the ancient city of Corfu used to be. The palace is surrounded by magnificent park. It was built in 1826 by the British Commissioner Frederic Adams as a gift to his Corfiot wife, Nina Palatianou. It is a small but very beautiful palace with colonial architectural elements.

Mouse Island

Next stop will be at Kanoni, the church of Panagia Vlacherna and the Mouse Island in Corfu: The location of Kanoni with the church of Panagia Vlacherna below and the Mouse Island (Pontikonissi) are the most famous and photographed spots of Corfu. Some steps go down the hill from Kanoni and you reach the small church of Panagia Vlacherna. A narrow 300m passageway connects the island with the church. Constructed in the 17th century, this lovely chapel has an impressive wooden-carved iconostasis and beautiful frescoes inside. Fishing boats depart (optional if time permitted) frequently from the church and go to the legendary Mouse Island, just 5 min boat ride. This lush green island took this name due to its tiny size. According to mythology, this rocky island is the ship of Ulysses that was stoned by god Poseidon. In the center of the Mouse Island, there is the 13th-century church of Pantokrator.

Old Fortress Corfu

Next stop will be at the Old Fortress remains one of the most interesting tourist attractions of Corfu Island. From the Old Fortress your tour continues foot visiting the Venetian style old Corfu Town center. The old town of Corfu is built under the Venetian style that’s why one of the most beautiful is and elegant towns in Greece. The narrow streets between the houses, the numerous churches around every corner and the well know Liston, will amaze you and complete your tour in Corfu. Into the old Corfu Town center, you can do some shopping, taste some of the traditional local foods of Corfu in one of the plenty restaurants which you will meet or even have a coffee in one of the famous Liston's Square. The tour cannot completed without a visit at the historical and traditional local Church of Saint Spyridon is built 1456! The duration of the tour is about 5 hours (we can modified according to your ship arrival/departure details)

wonderful 2 weeks at Hotel Mon Repos

We spent a wonderful 2weeks at the beautiful Mon Repos hotel in Corfu Town. our bedroom was well decorated and spacious with a lovely view of the sea. we stayed half board and there was a good variety of choice at breakfast and evening meal. The staff were wonderful.so pleasant and friendly nothing was too much trouble. there is a bus stop to town just around the corner but we usually preffered to walk along te promenade although this may be hazardous in places for anyone wit walking difficulties.There is a hop on hop off bus around the town centre and we also went on a bus trip around the island. We had a wonderful holiday made all the better by the attitude of the lovely staff all of whom were a great asset to this wonderful hotel.

The tour was great a lot of good information. Very friendly and informative. We loved our guide and would recommend this tour to anyone going to Corfu
