The Giant Swing was constructed in 1784 in front of the Devasathan shrine by King Rama I. During the reign of Rama II the swing ceremony was discontinued as the swing had become structurally damaged by lightning. In 1920 it was renovated and moved to its current location in order to make space for a gas plant. The ceremony was again performed until 1935, when it was discontinued after several fatal accidents.

Our guide Poppy is the most lovely and happy guide we ever had. The food choices are definitely quality over quantity. The night tour of the city is spectacular. Lots of stories and laughter. Poppy went above and beyond with everything we need - continued contact after our tour. Always helpful with good advice and resources.

Our first ever ride in a tuk tuk. It was a fun experience! Our guide Poppy was friendly. Lovely street food, stopped at two. The Grand Palace looks amazing at night with all the lights!

We explored Bangkok in the evening on tuktuk. The old city is amazing to watch with the lights on and the temples looks dazzling in the evening. We enjoyed the street food and the tasty fruits popular in the region.

What a spectacular experience for a family fun activity in Bangkok at night! We booked the tour for the day we arrived from the US- which was perfect not to have to think or prepare anything for our first night here. Bangkok is so beautiful at night! It felt very safe in the tuk tuk and such a fun ride! We also loved our guide, Poppy. She was so kind and patient, especially with our young daughter. The food was also amazing!! It was such a fun food street to walk along- hopefully can make it back there on our own. They were also super good asking about allergies. Definitely recommended for families!!!

Poppy took us on a private TukTuk food & nightlife tour on our last night in Bangkok. She knows her food and it was by far the best food we’d had in Bangkok. The stops we made and the view from the Arun rooftop were amazing. Poppy spoke English well, was very friendly and a joy. She took some amazing photographs to help us remember our night forever! Thank you Poppy.
