Took the guided tour to Rome earlier this week, Erik was the guide, Kerole the assistant, they were both fantastic!!!!!, and so helpful and accommodating, the tour party was around 40 people, and they did a great job keeping the group together and staying on time, there were 6 cruise ships in port that day so to say the least Rome was exceedingly busy, and be aware, due to congestion in Rome there is plenty of walking, carry water and snacks is good advice
The bus left Civitavecchia on time, first stop the Vatican, Erik was so knowledgeable, we took advantage of the skip the line ticket to tour St Peters Basilica, superb value as the actual line was around 2 hours, we were inside in about 15 minutes, a most amazing experience, from the Vatican next stop the Colosseum, good chance for some photos, on all the link trips the information we received was first class,
Next stop Trevi Fountains, the crowds were enormous, plenty of time here for photos, plus a bite to each, we bought Pizza from the shop on the right side of the fountains as you look at them, it was excellent value for money,
From Trevi we walked to the Pantheon, Erik doing a running commentary all the way, again, plenty of time for photos and discussion, from the Pantheon we walked to the Navarone Square, excuse spelling!!!!!!!!!, again, both Erik and Kerole gave excellent commentary, from here back to the bus, and trip back to port, no stress at all, back on board in plenty of time,
All in all the day was a real highlight of the cruise, the Civita Tours staff were so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and the way the driver manouvered the bus around the very, very crowded streets was first class,
