Overview

Join us in this Safari and pelagic shark dive tour for swimmers and observers. Departing everyday. Possibility of finding +4 different species of sharks, including Makos, Silkies, Blue and Smooth Hammerhead, and all sort of marine species from Baja. All levels of experience are welcome. The trip leaders are environmentalists with years of local experience in Los Cabos, and you also get a presentation about shark ecology & conservation work done locally. Cabo San Lucas is a world class shark destination, and we are working with the community to change the economic value of these animals, from fishing to eco-tourism. In every tour, we are able to generate crucial information for researchers & scientists, in order to understand & protect better these animals around the world. We invite you to this quest for saving and learning more about Sharks while having loads of fun in the ocean.

The meeting point is in the Marina in Cabo San Lucas, in front of the tourist attention center building (CATTAC - Pabellon Cultural). If coming from main street (Boulevard Paseo de la Marina), your reference should be the main public car parking (Lote 8) or restaurant captain Tony in the marina.

Itinerary

We will navigate through the marine park of Cabo San Lucas and see some of the most famous landscapes from Baja California, the notorious Arch of Cabo San Lucas, the Lovers beach, and the beautiful shoreline of Baja on the way. During the humpback whale season (nov-april) we might watch them breaching or surfacing too. Mobulas are also frequently early in the morning and late afternoon (May and December). Marlins, sea lions, sea turtles, among many other marine animals can be seen on our way, including many kinds of sea birds too! Once we arrive, the crew will start attracting the sharks with chum (made of 100% fish within the sharks diet) and your tour guide will give a presentation about our work, shark ecology and conservation efforts in the area. If you decide to swim with the sharks, you will also attend the mandatory safety briefing with the in-water procedures and all you should and should not do during the dive. Once the shark arrives, your safety diver will be the first one to get in the water. Follow the guides instruction and enjoy the sharks with safety and respect! Sharks may come very close to the boat and observers will also be able to see them from above.

Amazing experience

The staff was super friendly, safety oriented, and very knowledgeable. We had an amazing day on the water and got to spend an hour in the water with two Blue sharks. I live in Hawaii and have spent a lot of time freediving with many different species but this was by far one of my favorite encounters. I would love to come back and do it again. They are doing some amazing things to help educate their guests on the importance of shark conservation while offering an incredible encounter. Thank you for everything!

I had the best time ever. Richard, Felipe and Jose were great. Very knowledgeable and experienced. I felt safe and was able to really enjoy the encounter. I ended up going three days in a row!

This was an absolutely amazing experience! The team was organized, easy to communicate with, and ran everything very smoothly. They were incredibly knowledgeable about the local sharks and other wildlife, and had an obvious passion for the environment. I learned a ton and this also translated into a clear focus on keeping both ours and the animals safety in mind throughout the experience. This was by far the best thing we did in Cabo and I definitely recommend Orca Dive Expeditions if you are looking for a great ocean adventure!
