Overview

This tour is specially designed for cruise passengers who dock at Kusadasi port and want to explore the ancient city of Ephesus and its surrounding attractions. You will be picked up from the port and driven to Ephesus. You will see the famous Library of Celsus, the Great Theater, the Temple of Hadrian, and many other ancient structures. After exploring Ephesus, you will be driven to the charming hillside village of Sirince. You will have some free time to explore the village on your own and sample some of the local wines. Next, you will visit the Temple of Artemis, which is one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Finally, you will visit the House of the Virgin Mary, which is believed to be the place where Mary spent her last days. Temple of Artemis or Artemision, also known as the Temple of Diana, was a Greek Temple dedicated to the goddess Artemis. It was located in Ephesus and it was one of the seven wonders of the world.

The House of Virgin Mary, is a place where according to the beliefs of many people Mary, the mother of Jesus, spent her last years of her life. She was supposed to arrive at Ephesus together with St. John and lived there in the years 37-45 CE until her Assumption or Dormition.

Sirince Village, this pretty old Greek orthodox village, 12 km away from Ephesus, was once Cirkince (Ugly). Indeed its habitants gave this name of purpose as they did not want to be bothered by foreigners nor to share the beauty of their village. Still, after years, visitors understood that the village was not ugly at all and called it Sirince (Pretty). As the village is located on the top of the mountain, anyone will enjoy the impressive vineyards and peach trees views on his way.
