Worth every penny...!

I don't know. Where do I start...? Jean was our guide and he picked us up from our hotel in San Juan which wasn't at all far from the original pickup location he suggested. He was clean and so was his vehicle. He shared knowledge about Puerto Rico and really helped us understand the history of the area and the recent changes. Once we got to the rainforest he guided us up some challenging, but not at all unreasonable terrain. My best suggestion is to wear clothes you no longer care about and maybe a pair of old sneakers that you are about to throw out anyway. There will be plenty of river water, muds and dirt from the rocks, so dress appropriately. On this excursion Jean had us with another couple and they were also great people who were quite friendly. In my personal opinion, this is probably the best way to do this excursion, as it allows the guide to offer personalized attention that keeps the journey safe and even less intimidating. There will an opportunity to traverse the river, go on a water slide and even perform a cliff jump if one is so inclined. Jean was perfectly willing to allow a person to stop of they thought it was too much, but I would say that you are definitely in good hands. He even helped us fuel up with some tropical fruit before leaving the rainforest and heading out for lunch...!

Today was a great day with Gene!! I highly recommend him as your guide. He is informative, friendly, great sense of humor and provides an intimate experience. It was my husband and I along with another couple which made the excursion great. Make sure to bring extra clothes as you will get muddy. The river is cool and beautiful. Again highly recommended.
