Alvaro and Chimichurri (Brian) are the BEST! Alvaro explained the beach, the currents, the rocks, etc so we felt very safe surfing. They are both amazing coaches and taught us how to stand up and ride the waves very quickly. Will definitely surf with them next time! 100% recommend.

Alvaro is the BEST. I had only taken a couple of surf lessons in the past year and when we met it was my fourth time in total doing. To say I was a beginner was the understatement of the year. He is extremely knowledgeable, encouraging, and patient. I spent 7 days in total with him. First day we started in whitewater with basics and was standing and riding easily by the end of the first lesson. Each day we progressed to a new level of difficulty and I saw tremendous progress from one day to the next. By day 4, we were in the lineup and catching bigger waves and I was able to turn on the,. By day 7. I was able to ride really long waves and had a lot of confidence in everything I was doing. One of the key factors that comes with an instructor is the ability to trust them completely. Alvaro earned this from the first moment. In addition to being a fabulous instructor, he is a really great guy. If you are just starting your journey like I was or looking to grow your surf game, Alvaro is your guy!!! I will be back to surf with him, no questions asked.

I had the privilege of having surf lessons with Alvaro, an amazing surf coach in Playa Hermosa/Santa Teresa, Costa Rica. I can’t recommend him enough! From the moment I started, I could tell he was not only incredibly skilled but also passionate about helping his students improve. Alvaro explains every aspect of surfing, paying attention to all details. His feedback is always constructive and tailored to your individual needs, which helped me improve quickly. I had so much fun surfing! If you’re in the area and looking to up your surf game, Alvaro is an absolute must. The experience is beyond worth it!

I highly recommend Alvaro, he's an incredible surf instructor. Under his coaching I went from complete beginner to surfing green waves in the lineup. He has amazing attention to detail and picked up on stuff that no other surf instructor has before, and he encourages you to push yourself while also making sure you feel safe in the ocean, and is great at teaching you how to understand the ocean and read the waves. His expertise and patience are next level - if you go with him you're in the best hands possible!
